“I needed some spice ...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2012

It is fairly authentic I might give it a 6.5 out of 10 I asked for muy picante but it wasn't. The tom yum seafood soup could have been hotter in temperature and taste but the flavours were good. The set lunch is great value, and it satisfied my craving but definitely not the real McCoy.
Cosy atmosphere perhaps the main menu is better than a quick lunch menu.

“Good value, very central, recommended.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 January 2012

Located in calle Hileras, between Puerta del Sol and Teatro Real, Bangkok Thai-Restaurant is very convenient for a nice and unexpensive lunch. The cooks are Thai and some of the staff. It's only €12 for good meal that wouldn't send you hungry. They have real Shinga beer. The place is cosy and friendly and there are many tables along the windows. I recommended it.

“Awful”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 October 2011

This is as far removed from a Thai restaurant as burger king is from a steak house! The food didn't taste of anything, it really was that bad.

“Authentic Thai restuarant in the middle of Madrid”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2010

Bangkok is an oasis in the middle of Madrid, with the entrance located in C/Bordadores, just up from the corner of C/Arenal. If you are lucky to get a table by the window, you can watch the action on C/Arenal which is always filled with people and street performers. I understand the owners brought a chef over from Thailand and that seems the case, given the high quality of the food. The service is attentive and there are good wines available by the glass. Your meal can be as fast or leisurely as you like, the case with many Thai and Chinese restaurants. There is no discrimination against solo diners. Obviously one wants to sample as much Iberian food as possible while in Madrid, but if you need a break, try Bangkok.

“good Thai food!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2009

The curries are especially recommended at this restaurant. It remains affordable while still offering authentic, delicious dishes. The view of the old Madrid buildings is quite nice too!
