It was one of the worst experiences I've had in hotels. At the check-in we tried to speak with the receptionist in English and she just replied in Spanish. We tried speaking in Portuguese and she turned to answer in Spanish. What counts is that the Portuguese people do not have much difficulty in understanding other languages. However, it was unpleasant.

The room was very small. Could fit a little more than two suitcases on the floor. Had an old and uninviting aspect. However, this would not be severe. The worst was what happened next: when I opened the faucet from the washbasin to wash my hands it had the indication of cold water. However, what came out of the faucet was boiling water. Fortunately nothing serious happened, but probably in the hands of a child would not be the same. Only later did I realize a role that was next to the mirror that said that the tap was broken. In the cold water ran hot water and cold water in the hot water. Instead of having placed a role, it would be better to have repaired the tap. In addition, I take blankets from the closet with hairs. It's definitely bad.

Positive points: being close to the airport, transportation, restaurants and shopping. Although cheap, we will not return.

We had booked and took a taxi from the airport, which is only a short distance away. The hotel is small, clean and efficient and is located close to a square which has a great selection of excellent restaurants. It is a distance from the Metro and travel is so much easier using a taxi as the bus service is a bit hit and miss. It is excellently situated relative to the Airport.

This is not a luxury hotel, but it is within 5 minutes of the airport in Barajas. One block from the central park with many restaurants, accommodations here are typically 60 euro per night or less and include a nice-sized room (by European standards), clean and comfortable. There is free, wireless Internet in each floor of the hotel with a strong signal and good connection.

All in all, you cannot really ask for better in Madrid. The hotel is perfect if you're stopping over for one night, as I did.

The staff was very friendly and helpful as well.

This hotel was in a fantastic location as it was close to the Barajas airport. We had a few troubles with the staff as the language barrier was hard to get past. That and they weren't all that friendly to us which was a little frustrating. Also be aware that while the shuttle is nice, it does not leave often early in the morning. Other than these few things, the rooms were incredibly clean and quiet, the restaurant was great in the lobby, and we enjoyed our stay here overall.

My room and the bathroom at Hotel Barajas Plaza were huge compared to what I'm used to, and everything was exceptionally clean. The receptionist was very polite and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this as a stop en route to/from the airport. However, things will be a lot easier if you're coming and going using a taxi- I came by metro and it wasn't the easiest place to find or get to, especially dragging around two suitcases at night by myself.

Travelling with a bicycle always brings out the best or worst in a hotel. Storage, taxi reservations, you name it. Hotel Barajas Plaza came through with flying colours. It is conveniently located by the airport. Google maps helped me bike back and forth to the airport and when I needed a taxi the hotel took care of that expeditiously. Given its location on a one way side street I had a quiet night even with the windows open. The price is amazingly reasonable (under 50 eruos), the room fresh and roomy. Plus they have a great big terrace for the warmer weather. I stayed there twice and they also took care of my bike and gear when I made a side trip to Palermo.
I can't say enough good things about this hotel.

Room Tip: I had two different rooms both very quiet.
