Description: We are an Irish-owned and run pub located in central Madrid, a stone's throw away from Plaza de las Cibeles. We serve food all day, show live sports, including, rugby, soccer, american football, tennis and golf, as well as having live music. We have an outdoor terrace throughout the year. Our bartenders speak several languages, including English, Spanish, Italian and French. We have a langauge exchange, for those who want to practice their Spanish or English, on Monday evenings from 8.30pm. We also have a private room for parties and celebrations. We hope you can come by to experience a little bit of Ireland in Spain!

On a very hot day in Madrid we found James Joyce Irish pub. Sat outside under the shelter of roadside trees I was in need of a pint and a snack. The waiter spoke perfect English and brought me one of the finest pints outside of Ireland. I had a regular burger with a massive chunk of cheddar cheese on and my wife had a club sandwich both came with salad and chips and both were really tasty. The bill including two rounds of drinks came to €30 good value and good all round experience.

This was exactly what you would expect walking into a pub in Ireland or anywhere in the UK. All was good, including the service and selections. If you want an easy dinner of pub food and earlier than 9PM, this is just the ticket.

We wanted a change from tapas and other local dishes, and we had a couple of meals at the James Joyce Irish Pub for a change. It is located near the Retiro Park and near the Hotel Regina. The fillet was excellent and the shepherd's pie was so good it reminded me of home. The service was good, atmosphere pleasant and cheery. I would recommend a stop if you need a good warm meal in a comfortable setting.

We were there around the time of the Masters in Agusta and were very impressed.Alot of Irish bars abroad are that in name only but this one is different, really good friendly efficient staff, there was even an Irish barman, great Guinness, not over priced, very good buzz for the sports events.Matt was a great help to us with things to do and see which was nice as it was our first visit.Very central location beside Plaza de Cibeles(where Real Madrid will celebrate if they win the Champions League) and overall well worth a visit if you want the feel of a real Irish Pub

Thanks a million for your generous review. Things are heating up here with the Champions League in the next few days. There is already a great buzz. We are just happy to have been able to help. I suppose I know who you will be supporting at 2pm on Sunday!

Take care and thanks again.

Matt
