This was a great place to stay for a week-long visit to Madrid with friends. The apartments are located in a lovely and lively part of Old Madrid with cobbled streets and lots of restaurants, bars and little shops. It's less than a five-minute walk to the Prado and a ten-minute walk (in different directions) to the Puerta del Sol, the Plaza mayor and the Atocha train station (where the express bus to Barajas Airport goes). The Anton Martin metro stop is about three blocks away and there is a terrific covered market near the metro where you can get fresh produce, seafood, cheese and dairy products, etc. The apartment's kitchen was equipped with the basic items you will need, and the rooms were clean and had modern furnishings. We did not have a problem with noise as others have noted, but we were there in February when most of the nightlife was indoors. People do come and go rather late at night, which is not surprising in Madrid. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

A very nice place to stay while in Madrid. The apartment was nice, well furnished, and equipped with a good kitchen facilities. I totally felt like being in my own apartment. Aside from the fact that I was being place next to a grumpy neighbor that kept on complaining (make sure you don't get the 3rd floor room, as the local neighbor living next to you would complain on almost anything).

But, the best thing about this place is.... LOCATION! It is very close to everything, you just have to walk to reach the city's hot spots

Prado aparments has very good location, has very nice tools in the kitchen and all flat, if you paid before check in process is very easy. on the other hand, because of there is a bar just on the entrance its noisy and double bed is very small for 2.

Thank you for your feedback. If you are a light sleeper we can always recommend you a different apartment in more quiet location. Regarding the beds, we have standard queen beds in all our apartments. We are glad in general you liked the experience. Best wishes!

As you would expect from a flat in the heart of the old town this place was noisy due to a garbage collection depot the next block up the lane. People come and go at all hours up and down the lane, so if you are a light sleeper, then this place is not for you. They left us with 6 wireless access points and not one of them worked, even if we went out into the stair well and tried up and down the building. The team were very responsive though and provided a 3G mobile version but it ran out within a day. Both these things are what you would expect from a very old part of the city.
Everything else about the flat I loved, my son even sat on the balcony and sunbaked for while each day. Air conditioning in each room meant we could set the temperature to what ever we want. The ambience of the area is brilliant, really got a feel for Madrid and the way people in that part of town work and live.
Would I stay there again? Absolutely.

Thank you fro the sincere comments! We really appreciate it. Indeed if you are a light sleeper we could recommend a different area of the city center. We do our best to provide the best internet connection and as you said this is sometimes problematic in this old part of the city. It's great in general you loved the apartment! Hope to meet you again. Best wishes!

I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews. The 2 bedroom apartment we had on the third floor was clean and had all the basic needs. The beds were large and comfortable; there was ample wardrobe and storage; everything worked; reasonably quiet (you are in the middle of a major city, after all!) Pillows are a movable feast in Spain. In Cordoba we had one single long pillow across the bed than was made of stone; at least these were soft. Go out and buy some cheap ones if you need more/larger. Consider it a travelling expendable luxury, like cocktails. To avoid the business of checking in somewhere else, book and pay online. We had no trouble at all. We used their grocery service, which was fine but if you want specific things like proper tea (not herbal) make a point of saying so. The street is narrow, cobbled and quaint, therefore not a lot of vehicular traffic. However, the narrowness meant that in gloomy weather the aprtment was quite dark despite having several floor length windows on 2 sides. But unless you expect to be spending all your days in the apartment (and why would you?) this is not really an issue.

Our internet connection worked for three days then crashed. We rang the management and they sent someone around with a modem within 15 minutes. The location is fabulous; close to all types of shops, the metro, the bus, the glorious Prado and other galleries, the local mercado. Walking distance to virtually everything central Madrid has to offer including the wonderful Central Station, Atocha and El Retiro, Madrid's huge park. Don't overlook Madrid on your tour of Spain. Accommodation is very reasonable if you book ahead, even for the week leading up to Easter, when we were there. We spent seven full days going somewhere everyday and barely scratched the surface.

Room Tip: Look at the room maps provided and choose one with as many windows as possible. High floors are better. There is a lift.
