Lots of polished marble, glass sinks, beautiful bathroom. Excellent, attentive staff. Lots of big, local parties in the restaurant, eating obviously good food. Always a good sign!
I've just walked to it from the airport. Complimentary wifi a bonus! Happy!

I just stayed for a night. Checking in late & checking out at 6 am.
The room was nice. Had no meals there owing to late Check in & early Check out.
Have two points which if paid attention could do wonders to the hotel.
The Reception Staff should be friendlier, i was being dropped by my contact from Valencia, he called the hotel from Melia Avendia America (have stayed there too - Good hotel to stay) to know the route. It is about 7 minutes from there, instead was guided all the way to almost Madrid centre.
Mind you the gentleman querying is also spainish so no language issues. We thought maybe wrong understanding so again queried they asked us to go to another Hotel & check out the directions !!
We went back to Avendo & asked them for directions but got mixed up so called them again but they were of no help instead asked us to check with some one. It took us over 2.30 hrs to reach the hotel that too Thanks to a lady residing close by who escorted us all the way to the Hotel !!!
Even my request to send a Shuttle anywhere prominent close to their Hotel was also refused - we have no shuttle to spare !!!
Their site states 24 hrs Shuttle. I requested a Shuttle at about 6.15 am but they advised they only have half hourly ones, mind you i was the only one to take the Shuttle. To me it did not matter to go earlier but the way it was said was not from hospitality industry !!
My request if we can get my bags weighed was brushed roughly at Euro 1 per bag. Would have done it had it been advised warmly.
My comments are not criticism but just for improvement

Room Tip: Cannot say as just stayed for a few hours ! But be prepared with a good map if driving in else like...

I stayed for 3 nights, end of March 2014, attending a scientific congress. Free pick up from airport, although need to prebook and phone the hotel upon landing, but also free transfer to and from the congress. Large, clean rooms, modern bathrooms, spacious and very good breakfast (weekends start at 08.00). Hotel restaurant open until 22.30. Ideal for business / meetings at IFEMA or Palacios de Congress, but 40 min from town centre by metro (2 euros) , station 3 min walking from Hotel. Highly recommend !

I had similar experience with "Frac" posted on March 07.

I contacted this hotel for a shuttle bus when I arrived the Madrid airport. A lady from the hotel answered me that we will send a shuttle in 20 min even I did not make a reservation for the shuttle. I was waiting for the shuttle for 30 min, but it did not appear, so I called the hotel again, and different lady, who is a manager of reception, picked up and said that we do not have your reservation! I explained her the situation, and she said that we will send you the shuttle in 20 min, so I was waiting for another 30 min, but did not come!! I called again, and the same lady manager picked up, and she said that we will send you right away. After an additional 20 min (total 30+30+20=80 min), the shuttle finally came, but no apology at all. I complained the situation to the lady manager after arriving the hotel, but she said that we had many passengers and needed to pick them up at the airport (of course, no apology from her at all). It takes for about 10 min from the airport, and I did not see the shuttle passed by in front of me even one time while I kept waiting it at right place for all the time!! I fed up to talk with her anymore after hearing such poor execute.

She also gave me unexpected service about an a address on receipt at the same time of my check-in. When I requested her to prepare the receipt under company name and address (because I stay for business trip from outside Europe), but she said that we need your company number (something like VAT number?), otherwise we issue under your personal address. I do not know what it was or what she was talking about. I have traveled a lots of European continues, but it was first time to hear such thing. Anyway, I did not have/know such number because I am just one of employees from small company located outside Europe, as well as my company closed due to weekend. Even though I explained her the situation, she did not listen or accept my request at all. At a date of my check-out, I requested a man from the front desk to issue a receipt under company name and address, he did it right away without asking me such a number at all.

Overall, my room and the restaurant were very clean and comfortable with this price range, as well as peoples were very nice and friendly except a lady manager at the front desk. I hope that hotel listen my really bad experiences and improve such services as soon as possible.

We were insulted and robbed but got away physically unharmed... barely.

The highlights are as follows.

We called ahead to have the hotel's airport shuttle pick us up at the terminal. It never showed up. Eventually a driver from another hotel took pity on us and convinced someone to come. There was no apology waiting for us by the time we eventually checked in. Rather, we were first told that no reservation had been made, then that there was a reservation but that the shuttle had been on time, and last that the event had never happened at all. In short, the strategy pursued by the impertinent receptionist hinged on the belief that verbally harassing the guests redeemed her of responsibility. It didn't and it doesn't.

Since we had an early flight the next day and could no longer count on their competence, we were forced to get up two hours earlier than expected and consequently miss the (paid for) breakfast buffet. We were assured that an early breakfast would be prepared. There was no surprise when we woke up to find a clunky coffee machine, a stale croissant, and a miscellaneous collection of leftovers. The night guard gave us the same explanation that he had given to many, many other guests before, that is, that "the cook had the key" and, of course, was still sleeping at that early hour.

On the return we made a reservation elsewhere on pure survival instinct. It is left as a reader exercise to figure out if we got our money back when we canceled on "Maydrit".

We stayed at this hotel as an overnight transit stop. In the past we have used another hotel and decided on a change. We were very pleased at trying the Maydrit as it fulfilled our needs perfectly. The room provided was of a high standard and spacious. The bathroom was a dream, very modern facilities complete with a bidet, a shower recess, and a separate bath. The lighting system provided many combinations of lighting which created a very pleasant room ambience.
We chose to have the breakfast provided for Euro10 each. The breakfast provided a huge range of options and definitely great value for the price.
In relation to the free shuttle pickup; The service was as one would expect, reliable with clean late model buses. ( We had the information desk at Madrid Airport telephone the hotel to confirm pickup.)
