Clean, very well located, and so nice people !
Hotel Besaya has a kind of living room, charming and welcoming.
Very nice view on the city, on a metro hub. Shopping till late is possible. Plenty of things to see all around (Opera, Royal Palace...).

We can just propose to have double glazing for less noise in the room. But as it is 8th floor, this is very acceptable.

First I have to say, Hostal Besaya is located in the center of Madrid, next to wold famous Gran Via. So I would recommend anybody staying that they dont have to take a cab or the metro at all, everything is pretty near.

Also take a metro which is 2,5 e directly to the hotel, no use taking any cabs or anything. What I really liked about my stay was the service, had an issue with my internet conection and everything was solved fast.

The rooms are small, very clean and with an LCD screen which for me is a must. A bit noisy but hey yu are in the middle of Gran Via.

They also have this great service and gave me a dozen of restaurants with 30% discount, I had never seen this kind of service and went to eat to this Japanese restaurant next to the hotel, saved 30 euros, thanks a lot for this one!

I would recommend this hotel for people who come to get around and not stay all the time in the hotel and do more of a tourist trip.

I certainly recommend this hostal, especially due to the great location (next to Gran Via) and due to the excellent service from staff. The rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are very clean. Moreover, the room that I stayed possesses an excellent overlooking to Gran Vía.

I LOVE this hotel! Amazing location, beautiful hotel, great staff, clean room and cheap price: what else do you need? I stayed for 5 nights in june 2013 and would absolutely stay there again. Lovely place. Central location. Even if the metro is right in front of the hotel on Gran Via (Santo Domingo) and bus stop also, we never had to use public transportation: everything is walking distance. Hotel is on the 8th floor so the view is amazing. Air conditioning is appreciated since it is a bit hot during summer. Room is small but for 40$ a night, it can't get better than this. Our room was quiet (not over Gran Via) and we did appreciate that since Madrid is a city full of party people!!! Clean towels every day with soap and shampoo. No kitchen but common place with food distributor and excellent coffee machine. Security staff 24 -7 and tourist info were helpful. Not disappointed. But : there was no safe (security box) in the room as advertised and the beds were squeaking a little. I have to say that the owner let us use the safe in the main office for our valuables.

Overall, great stay. Don't miss this amazing hotel!

Spent two nights at Hostal Besaya thanks to its strong reviews on this site and was not disappointed. Location is ideal, just off of Gran Via close to the Callao and Plaza de Espana metro stops, so it requires one train change coming from the bus station and 2 from the airport (but the Madrid metro system is very easy to navigate). Our double room with a private bath was basic and small, but we were not looking to spend much time in it anyways. It was clean and updated (including the bathroom) and the bed was extremely comfortable. Only complaint was that it was a little warm and the temperature was difficult to control from the room. The reception was very helpful and assisted in figuring out how early we would have to leave to get to the airport. Value was good, but understand that you'll pay as much for a good, centrally located hostal in Madrid as you would for a nice hotel in a smaller city like Granada.

I stayed for 2 nights and I would stay here again!
The location is great, the staff is really friendly and helpful, and the rooms are really clean.
They have a public lounge with a vending and coffee machine, and a really nice view over the city.
Due to the central location, can be a bit noisy at night if you decide to sleep with the window open, but because the room has AC there is no need.

Room Tip: ask for view :)

We stayed at this Hostal for 4 nights & enjoyed every exciting minute Madrid that to offer. We could not have asked for a better location & it is SO central that you almost fall onto the Gran Via! The staff are welcoming & friendly but I will point out that although they advertise English speaking staff only one girl actually spoke English & none of the other staff we met spoke any. The rooms are tiny but this is a budget hostal so it was what we expected & it did have air-con at no extra charge which was great as it was 33 degrees! The bed linen & towels were changed every other day & the hostal was very clean apart from our bathroom floor which had not been cleaned when we arrived. The public longue area had vending machines which were great for stocking up on water & had wonderful views over the city. The computer/internet in the longue was not working the whole time we were there so cannot comment on that service.
This hostal is actually on the 8th floor of a massive building which were we not aware of but we did not find this an issue. I had requested a room with a balcony & we looked right onto the Gran Via but disappointingley we were not able to open the doors due to the bed being pushed right up to them & we did find the room very claustrophobic. We were out & about every day & night so only used the room to sleep & shower but its not the type of place to relax as its so tiny :-(
We would stay here again if we wanted another cheap break & it only cost us £271 euro's for 4 nights without breakfast so we were happy with what we got for the price!

Room Tip: Due to being located on the Gran Via it is very noisy so pack earplugs!
