“Small and old-fashioned”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014

This was the tiniest room I've ever stayed in, decorated with the most improbable taste: an unfortunate mix of Japanese, Egyptian and old France, with all sorts of colors and textures. The bed was hard, and narrower than the usual double beds you find in hotels. In the bathroom, I had to step over the toilet to reach the shower. The Internet didn't work. It costs 1 euro every time you lock the safe. The location is very good though, central and in a trendy area with lovely boutiques and cafés.

Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The owners, Angela and her husband are lovely. Nice central location, but the wooden staircase outside the hostal make one of the rooms a bit noisy when people are coming and going. I have stayed there a few times now and will happily stay there again. Internet in the front room is ok, but I believe further back is not so good. Yes the bathrooms are small, but very clean and the shower works well.

Room Tip: Ask for a room along the corridor rather than the one by the front door!

I stayed 4 nights in the hostel. The location is central of old madrid. They advertise as having free internet and safe in the room, but;
There was not internet in building until front of front door, where they put sofa ( although owner claimed that internet is bad time by time only in my room area)
There was safe box in the room but it was not really free as it is said. You need to put 1 € to lock it and every time you open, you loose that 1€.
My room and bathroom was very small
So it may look relatively cheaper on online booking but i do not think it is value for money. You can get nice B&B with character in UK for that money.

Angela, the owner was a delight and gracious.Simple, clean rooms and location. It was within walking distance to all attractions. In a safe location. Most rooms have there own shower and toilet, very clean and in fairly good repair. Would recommend for those wanting simple, clean, safe accommodation.

I've stayed at this Hostal twice and highly recommend it. Its convenient location, price, cleanliness and the friendly staff are the best features of this place. There's no breakfast, but there are many places around where you can have a nice breakfast for less than 5 euros. Mr. and Mrs. Sanchez are the nice couple that run the place, you'll feel like at home.

We arrived at the door to this Hostal and could have turned round without even going in - but then not wanting to judge a book by its cover, went in for a look round. We were greeted by an extremely friendly hostess who was most welcoming and showed us our rooms. They were perfectly big enough (given this is a hostel) and we had an ensuite.

Rooms were immaculately clean, and were cleaned every day. We also got fresh towels, something I wouldn't normally expect from a Hostel. Our room had AC and little balcony.

Location is great, very easy to walk from the metro, lots of little bars and about 5 minutes from the main shopping area (El Corte Ingles etc).

All in all we thought it was excellent value and would certainly return/recommend.

Its a friendly and nice place to stay.
The room was small and we could hear everything that happen on the hall. But everything is clean and neat.
The street is a bit "dark" but it was central with bus and subway quite close by. Also good markets around.
There was no breakfast.
The staff was a very nice lady!
