“Suckling pig to die for”
Reviewed 11 July 2012

The suckling pig is a real must if you visit this restaurant. This is my second visit here (previously 10 years ago!) and the food and service, as well as the atmosphere remains just as good as it was 10 years ago.

“If you like lamb this is the place for you”
Reviewed 4 March 2012

Lamb and pork cooked to perfection, served with green salad dressed with the best olive oil I have tasted anywhere. House wine is more than good, you probably won't want a starter or dessert. The bread was beautifully fresh and very tasty. The restaurant was packed with locals, would certainly visit again.

“Best meat in Madrid”
Reviewed 16 August 2011

Great atmosphere and food. This place is paradise for meat eaters. Everything is cooked in a wood heated oven and the meat is treated with sea salt, giving it an extra strong flavor. Service is excellent and you can get a taste of real Spanish food and not the rubbish “tapas” they sell in the majority of the substandard bars and restaurants.

“If you like lamb, this is the place to go!”
Reviewed 13 June 2011

On Calle Preciados near the Gran Via, this is a great restaurant recommended to us by locals, but you must like lamb as that's the only thing on the menu! We went twice during our stay. The first time we ordered lamb chops that were delivered to the table on their own "asador" - a little charcoal grill. The second time, we went with friends who live in Madrid and ordered lamb roast - basically a suckling lamb leg roasted to perfection and just falling off the bone. Don't miss the grilled asparagus as an accompaniment. Both times, we were the only "tourists" in the place, and they don't speak much English, so be sure to polish up your high-school Spanish!
