“Good for Some, Not For Me”
Reviewed 5 November 2013

Stayed here for business, hoping to take advantage of the shuttle bus to the IFEMA Convention Centre. Big mistake. We waited 45 minutes to get the free shuttle from the airport, which felt like a long time. When we finally got to the hotel (literally, a 5 minute drive away) the staff seemed stuffy and didn't speak much English. I feel bad for not knowing enough Spanish, but hey ho!
My room unfortunately looked out over the restaurant so I did hear clanging of plates etc. Luckily there is an interior door which muffled the sound a bit. The room was large and quite nice. The bathroom was clean, spacious and had nice toiletries. However, the WIFI was terrible. The signal was poor and the throughput was non-existent. Do not expect to be able to Skype / FaceTime or video call.
Breakfast was a weak affair. It starts at 7 am which is fine except the pick up for the Convention Centre is at 7:30. More on this later :-) Back to breakfast, it was not great. Eggs, errr, thats about it. A few sweet things, nothing to set you up for the day. I left disappointed every day.
Back to the shuttle bus. Even though the Conference at the convention centre started at 9:30 am every day they insisted that they leave at 7:30 am - a few of us protested that the bus was too early but the staff were not interested. Luckily at the conference we could get drinks and food before it started so it made up for the poor breakfast. The pickup from the conference was even worse. It was often late and when we phoned asking where the bus was, we were told we had missed it so they would come back?! They did luckily, but not a great experience.
Location wise, the hotel is no-where near Madrid. It is close (10 min walk) to a Shopping complex which was handy for eating out in the evening, buying water etc. There are a few good restaurants to chose from, except the American place :-)
All in all, I appreciate the free shuttle bus, they just need to brush up on punctation and listen to the customer. The room was very nice but the location was too remote so next time, if I visit a conference in Madrid, I will chose a hotel in the city and use the metro to commute. Lesson learned. On the other hand, if I needed a connection to the airport, this hotel is ideal.

The perfect place for resting during an extended layover in Madrid. Close enough to airport so that you should not miss your flight and a reasonable cab ride to some sights and restaurants in Madrid. My only complaint would be the that breakfast is not served early enough to enjoy before an early morning flight.

We arrived in Madrid Terminal 1 at 11pm for an overnight stay. The hotel bus stop is over the road from the taxis. Previous reviews had complained about the wait for the shuttle bus and yes, we had to wait but it wasn't any longer than for those waiting for buses for other hotels. They all service all the terminals so that is perhaps why there is a wait. The driver was very cheerful and courteous. There was a wait for check-in at the hotel but we were told that was unusual.
The hotel is sparkling clean, very modern and very comfortable with lots of seating around the reception and other public areas too. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The room was a good size and again very modern as was the bathroom. Very clean.
Breakfast was very good with a wonderful selection. I enjoy fruit at breakfast time and there was a great variety of that - a bowl with fresh fruit salad and more fruit by the cheese and cold meat. Great selection of hot food and cakes and pastries too. All very good quality. We only stayed one night but could have happily stayed more. We paid £48.76 through Expedia and it was very good value, especially as you consider the breakfast, free shuttle both ways (also available into Madrid Centre) and also free wifi and free safe in the room. Excellent 4 star and would definitely stay there again.

Close to the airport (but DO NOT take a taxi there - call the hotel and ask for the shuttle). Clean, comfortable and inexpensive. One other caution - the garage entrance is hard to negotiate with a large car.

I stayed here for two nights for a conference, just what was wanted for the conference, but a pity to be so far from the centre of Madrid. Rooms, food and conference facilities all good and nice and close to the airport, but I would choose somewhere more central if you want to make the most of Madrid.

I stayed in the Nuevo Boston Hotel two nights in Oct 2013. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom. Excellent lighting in the room, with multiple lights and options.
No power outlet in the bathroom.
Small fitness room but with brand new equipment.
Excellent breakfast buffet and dinner.
Bad, really bad wireless internet. Slow and some times faulty signal. Often it did not work at all.

I stayed here one night during my stoper over flying back to the US. Having paid only 54 EUR for bed & breakfast + free WiFi and airport shuttle, there is really not much one should complain about provided the basics are covered, which was the case: clean, new hotel hotel with spacious rooms and nice bathrooms. Service in the restaurant was exceptional and the burger I head was formidable for around 11 EUR.

But being picky as I am, I cannot help but take away one star for some shortcomings having in mind that there is lots of competition around:
- the internet, though free, is laughably slow. If you need to do some work while in the hotel, do not stay here. My email server would time out and it was not possible to downolad anything. I tried different locations around the hotel (my room, lobby, lounge) same result. I had to postpone my work and was late to meet some deadlines.
- the bed is not comfortable: you can feel the springs under you back and it is jumpy
- morning 9 AM when most passangers check out there is only one person working at the reception desk. She was really fast and efficient but she was clearly stressed and unnecessarily alone.
- I bought a drink and cookies at the vending machine in the hotel lobby and I was bluntly kicked out of the coctail lounge for bringing my drink from outside though I was the only person there
- they turn off the lihgts in the lobby in the evening (11 PM) for energy saving, regardless of the fact that there are poeple there and that it is uncomfortably dark
- in October, outside swimming pool with cold (unheated) water doesn't count as a pool in my view
