“Excellent room, great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2013 via mobile

This hotel was fantastic. Very modern and clean with a great location walking distance to everything in the centre of Madrid. The wifi was free and fast, and the addition of a laptop in the hotel room connected to the Internet was great. By far the best place we stayed in Spain.

We spent here two nights as a family of four. We arrived to Madrid on Saturday and I was glad to find a free parking spot on the street for our rental car.
This place is lovely decorated. The room had a laptop in it. City centre and lovely Parque del Retiro were both in walkable distance. The staff is awesome and very helpful.
The breakfast seemed to have quite small range of food so we skipped that.
As we had never been in Madrid before, two days was clearly not enough during our road trip. Next time in Madrid I think this will be our choise again.
Tip for food: Miss Sushi just few hundred meters down the street. Highly praised Taberna Gastromaquia is very close too but sadly it was closed last Sunday.

Obscure , almost hidden entrance to a gem of a hotel. Beautiful, small, renovated lobby leads to a clean modern room with a lovely bathroom.Crisp, fresh linens, comfortable bed. Outside are small cafes, restaurants, on the corner is the metro station. There is a patio courtyard area for drinks at night, a lovely breakfast area.and a very helpful front desk, always willing to help. Front rooms might be noisy. Request a room facing the courtyard or he side street. It was wonderful returning here after a busy day of sightseeing!

The hotel has a great location and is very clean, which is the main reason why we have stayed there already twice and would do so again. The building combines a nice old style together with modern new rooms, very likable. The location is great for doing culture, shopping, night life or just hanging around. The metro stop is very close by and the area felt rather safe on both days and nights. Breakfast was great (diverse and fresh), and there is a nice tiny bar in the atrium. One tiny thing that could be improved if the management staff read this: please add there better lights in the bathrooms and a big mirror (the only one is in the lift, which gives a strong impression the hotel was designed by and for guys only). Apart from that, all was fine.
Tip: Ask for a room that is not turned towards Santa Barbara square, as those are noisy! Previous year we stayed in a room turned differently and it was no problem.

Its so nice for us to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that you would consider us again for future stays in Madrid.
Thank you for sharing your comments about the bathroom lighting. We do take into consideration all guests suggestions and although this is not on the agenda, I will mention it to head office.
Regarding the full length mirrors, we do have plans to include some in some of the rooms. If you ever do return to our hotel please let us know that you want a full lenght mirror in your room and we will make sure we assign you one.
Hope to see you again soon!

I loved this hotel. It is ideally located for those wishing to explore Madrid, go shopping, eat and drink out. There are a number of bars and places to eat and drink right next to the hotel which seem to very popular with the locals. The hotel itself has a high standard of decoration throughout and is spotlessly clean. The rooms are modern and comfortable and all have a laptop for free internet use. They have a lovely courtyard in the centre of the building where drinks can be enjoyed at the end of the day in the warm Madrid sun. Breakfast was also very good and served in the restaurant. The service was of a high standard too throughout my stay with all staff welcoming and attentive.

All-in-all a very good hotel and one I would willingly return to.

We are currently staying here and couldnt be more disappointed. We chose this hotel based on Trip advisor reviews and the fact that it is a ¨high tech¨ hotel. There is no gym, no pool, no balconies, no views and the street we are facing is extremley noisy (someone was honking for 15 minutes first thing this morning). The WIFI is extremly slow and you have to log in with different security codes everytime you use a device, or in the case of cell phones everytime your phone goes to sleep. So frustrating! Now 1 day into our stay none of the 8 codes given work anymore. We thought we booked a queen bed, but instead got 2 twin beds pushed together so there is a gap in between making it very uncomfortable to sleep in, not to mention the fact that the mattresses are super thin, like they came out of sleeper sofas or cots. The bathroom is also smelly. When we asked if we could move rooms we were told they were fully booked and we should have requested a different type of bed upon booking. Who wants 2 twin beds pushed together ever?? Sad to say we have to stick it out 3 more nights....

Dear Guests,
I would firstly like to appologise if your experience in our hotel has not lived up to your expectations.
I hope to be able to clarify a few points; you correctly observed that we have no pool or gym, but as this information is not published in our hotel description anywhere, we presume that guests are informed of this before reserving / arriving in our hotel.
You mentioned that the hotel has "no views" and "no balconies". I am quite puzzled, as, a part from the fact that your room was exterior with a view of the street, we have another 24 rooms with balconies facing the plaza before the hotel.
I am sorry you experienced noises from the street, but as you can imagen, being in a lively plaza, in the centre of the capital of Spain, with a street right beside the hotel, I think its reasonable to expect some level of noise may be heard from below.
I am very sorry that the wi-fi was not functioning correctly during your stay. We do try to mainting this free service in perfect order but unfortunately this is not always posible due to system mal function. We do hope you could make use of the free laptop in your room with free high speed internet access.
I have checked your reservation, and the only special requests we saw were for a room on a high floor and non smoking (and effectively, that is what we assigned for you). Not all rooms have double beds and so they are on a request basis. At some times, when the hotel is full or if there is high demand, we unfortunately cannot comply with all guests requests. We do have matress softeners availible for guests who do not find them comfortable, if only you had let us know directly at the reception desk during your stay we could have fitted one on to your bed.
I am sorry you found your bathroom to be smelly, unfortunately, the reception desk told me you didnt mention this when you requested a room change (only that you wanted to change because of the bed type), otherwise, we could have changed you to another room and avoided your discomfort in the bathroom.
Once again I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us and I if you do decide to give us another oportunity, please contact me directly and I will do my best to fulfil all of your special requests.
Best regards
