Abami is more hostel than a hotel, because it's located in ordinary house and it occupies one floor there. Personally I don't think it's drawback, but there's lack of typical hotel's facility like restaurant, gym, etc. Nonetheless rooms are very modern, quite well equiped (modern panasonic flat screen tv, nice bathroom) and generally very clean. Staff is also kind, but some of them don't speak English at all. Abami is located near to the metro station and Gran Via as well. That's great choice for cheap tourist visit in Madrid.

We stayed in Abami 2 for 4 nights in November, as other reviewers have said it is up 3 flights of stairs, and there is NOT a lift as a previous reviewer stated, not a huge problem for us but worth bearing in mind. Small rooms, very modern and had everything you needed, no tea coffee making facilities, however there was a great little cafe at side of Abami that served great coffee and snacks. Walls are very thin and would def recommend ear plugs, our room had a little balcony and automated shutters that kept room dark which was a nice touch. Good tv, no english channels but this isnt a hotel for relaxing in, it's a base really to explore the city, everything very close by, metro, shopping, attractions, really no need to be watching tv.

Nice, clean, new hostel, close to the city center and transport links. The room was rather small, actually very small, and the view was not great (drying laundry between the buildings), but I was there alone and all the day I was away, so it was not such a problem for me. Free internet connection was a huge advantage, unfortunatelly they do not serve breakfast, but there are many places close to this hostel, where you can eat something. The staff was very nice but they did not speak english, which was a shame. Lack of lift was a problem for me, but apart form this I was happy with this hostel

I stayed in Abami II for one night and I am happy with it for its price, cleanliness and location. It is only 2 min walk from Noviciado metro station (about 40 min from the Airport if you travel by the metro) and 10 min walk to the city center. It is located on the 3rd floor and there is a small elevator in the building so there is no problem if you have luggage.
It is in a very safe neighbourhood so coming back late at night was never a problem. There are also quite a few cafes and convenience stores all within 2-5 min walk away so it is extremely convenient.
The room's furnishing is modern and is equipped with a Flat screen TV and aircon and you also have access to WIFI. Not all the staff speaks English but they are helpful. We are happy with our stay there.

The location is superb. It is very close to Noviciado metro station; and from there you can easily reach to Barajas Airport in 40 minutes most.

It is in the second floor; therefore it would be hard to carry heavy luggages since there is no elevator in the building.

Rooms were definitely beyond my expectations. Clean bath, clean sheet and very effective a/c.

I can recommend this hostal anybody looking for affordable accommodation.
