Staff were super friendly and helpful, going out of their way to accommodate us. The hostel organised lots of daily events which not only allowed us to meet new people but also see the great city of Madrid. Great relaxed atmosphere and our room, bathroom and all common areas were very clean. The only downside was the noise level - our room was facing the main road so there was quite a bit of traffic, I live in London so the noise didn't bother me but it did keep my friends awake. The location of the hostel was superb - we walked everywhere which allowed us to see hidden streets and all areas of madrid. Highly recommended, would definitely stay there again!

Location and hostel facilities were above par, however what really made this one of the best hostels was the activities that they set up. They were a great opportunity to meet other people backpacking and were a lot of fun. Pablo was great guide and Bau at the front desk was the friendliest, most helpful hostel staff member I've ever encountered. He would greet everyone by name and was very apparoachable and knowledgable. I had a lot of fun in Madrid and it is because I stayed at this hostel. Highly recommended!!!

Stayed here for a birthday weekend in late Feb early March. Had a quality experience from the get-go. Events were organised every day/night for people to take part in. The hostel has great facilities with a large kitchen and common room. Bautista was on reception most of the time I was there, he was very friendly, chilled and helpful! Would go back in a heart beat

I stayed here in January, I accidentally booked the wrong nights and emailed the way hostel who were very helpful in changing my booking to the actual dates. This place is in a great location! The staff are very friendly and helpful with maps and directions. The common room is a great place to meet people with nightly activities providing loads of entertainment! I really enjoyed my short stay here :) thanks way hostel!

For the past 4 years I have stayed at quite a few hostels around the World. And I can geniunely say there are some aspects of Way that make it unique i.e. awesome.

First, the staff. I ended up staying a few weeks at Way and was lucky to develop a great relationship with them. Argentineans, Italians, Lithuanian, .. A real melting pot. Always happy to have a chat, not to mention they know all the best insider spots of the city. Very useful for a tourist like me :)

Then, a detail that can make your stay wholly different: the bathrooms. 95% of the time they are clean and DRY. Yes, dry! I usually kind of dread the moment i have to face hostels' bathrooms but those are great.

About the facilities: i don't know what it is about this hostel, but you feel at home there. The kitchen and lounge areas make it easy to meet people and to chill without the awkward feeling you can have when travelling alone.

Did I mention the free small breakfast, free wifi, free luggage room and free bed linen? All of these for a very affordable price.
Every morning you can also for a free guided walking tour (tip-based) - perfect if you wanna see the main sights and don't have too much time. You can also join some other activities, there is pretty much always something going on.

On more detail: the music. There is always some great music playing in the background - the guys know how to fit it to the atmosphere.

I could go on and on but I'll stop here. I definitely want to come back to Madrid when it's warmer - and for doubt this is where I'll stay.

Gracias para todo chicos!

Room Tip: The rooms are equipped with lockers. You can bring your own padlock, or rent one at the reception (5...

The biggest thing Way Hostel has going for it is the atmosphere - whether you're travelling solo or with friends you'll easily meet so many cool people here to enjoy your travels with. We stayed for 6 nights in January and then returned for two nights in February as we were passing through Madrid again. This hostel has a great location, very close to the centre of the old town, Plaza del Sol. It is a big hostel, with some rooms upstairs and some downstairs. We first stayed in a 6 bed dorm with ensuite downstairs, and then an 8 bed dorm upstairs. If you don't have an ensuite, you may sometimes have to wait a few minutes for a bathroom. The beds were comfortable and everything was fairly clean. There are lockers in the rooms, and you can rent a lock at reception for 5€, which you get back if you return the lock. Everyone also gets an electronic key card to access the front door and their room. Downstairs there is a well equipped kitchen, eating area and social lounge with free access to computers. The staff are very friendly and are there 24/7, and they've always got some kind of cool music playing in the hostel. Unfortunately there isn't free breakfast, but there are tea/coffee and churros in the mornings. Every day there is a free walking tour, and at night there are activities such as a tapas tour, pub crawl, paella night, free sangria and games night. All in all, it's a great hostel if you're looking to meet people, or to party. However if you want more privacy or peace & quiet, or are older or traveling with a kid, this is most likely not the place for you.
