Just went on the tour last night and it was great! It was very relaxed and we got a feel of the different places without sticking out and being very "tourist-y." The food choices were all very good, as were the wines. I highly recommend.

“This is a must do in Madrid!”
Reviewed 2 March 2012

This was a great introduction to Madrid!

Andres is a wonderful tour guide and definitely educates you on the history and significance of buildings and monuments in Madrid.

We went to three different restaurants. I really liked the first place we went to Casa Paco where we enjoyed olives and vermouth di grifo. I've never had vermouth before, but this came out of a tap, Andres gave a great explanation of this and I wish I could remember it! But this drink was amazing, almost like a more tart sangria. I enjoyed it very much! Our next stop was Casa la traviesa where we had different types of pork (including snout, which wasn't bad, but the texture was..different). I loved the different types of ham we ate. We also different types of wine here and the one I distinctly remembered was that was made with cashews..?!? I wasn't too fond of it though. The last place we went to was more of a modern restaurant and we had some amazing shrimp and monkfish tapas here. YUM! Also, some delicious beef. We also sampled the most wines here. The awesome thing is Andres samples these wines specifically for this tour and he gives us various types for the different types of wine lovers.

GREAT TRIP well worth the cost! Must do in Madrid for the knowledge of food, history and wine. Andres was awesome!

Great tour with a small group. The history was told in short by the guide Andres. Further great wines and food(that's why we joined the tour, right?!)

“Adventurous and well worth the time and money”

Enjoyed everything about the tour: wine, tapas choices out of this world. Some of the choices adventurous but why not, that is part of the fun of being in a new country. Andres was wonderful, excellent pace a great way to spend an evening.
Thanks, Jan and Blake, Ottawa

Find all the places you wish you had stumbled on, and all the foods you wish you had tried, served up with a jot of local history thrown into the bargain- quality. The guide, Andres was quite amiable, informative and apparently did well at the whole matching foods with wines part.. I wouldn't have a clue about that personally, as I've only ever pretended to have a discerning palate- food that good stands out on its own and doesn't need a pedigree
The highlight of our anniversary weekend!
