Stayed here for 3 nights at Easter 2014 - The hotel is in a great location opposite the Royal Palace (fantastic view of it from the 7th floor terrace), Most of the Madrid sites are within a 20 to 30 minute walk - we never needed to use the Metro other than to and from the airport. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Very nice buffet breakfast every day. No restaurant for evening meals but plenty within a few minutes walk. The room was large and included a small kitchen although we only used it for pouring drinks.

Thoroughly recommended.

From the outset the room, bathroom and hotel generally was very nice, and cannot argue with the price. However our stay can only be rated as 'average' due to the problem of sound. From within the room we could hear everything going on in the corridor, room next to us, room above us etc etc

Dear Benjamin,

Thank you very much for sharing your review.

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoyed our hotel because you found your room noisy. On regards of preventing the noise coming from the outside all our rooms have windows sound proof with a double glass. Also there are very quiet rooms facing a big patio.

Unfortunately according to your review your problem was with the noise coming from inside the hotel. This is not a very common complaint and we are sorry about it. It could have been a punctual problem coming from the guests staying in the rooms close to yours, or it could be an isolation problem only with your room.
We always recommend to inform reception on whatever problem you may have, so we could provide you with a solution right away; either talking to the other guests, if this was the problem, or offering you another room, if we had availability.

We much appreciate If you can provide us with your room number so we can check if the isolation in room you were in is correct. We are always making an effort to improve our service and the quality of our product so your feedback is much appreciated.

Thanks again for your comments.

Best regards,

My wife, 2 year old son and I stayed 14th to 18th April 2014 (circa 700euro B and B in the bigger suite).

From check-in to check out the service from the staff at reception and breakfast was fantastic. This may only have a 3 star rating, but it has staff that deliver 5 star service (phone calls, help with luggage etc.).

Our suite/apartment (number 78) had a lovely safe terrace overlooking the Royal Palace. It had a separate bedroom and the kitchenette was as expected - perfect for travelling with a young child. The suite was well decorated and extremely clean. The air con (two separate units for the living area and bedroom) was great in the Madrid heat (28/29 degrees).

We had contacted the hotel to ask if it was possible to have a couple of sandwiches in the room on arrival as our Iberia Express flight time had been changed resulting in us arriving at 1045pm. We were really pleasantly surprised to find two plates of sandwiches, We, chocolate, water, biscuits and crisps awaiting s. Excellent service (with no extra charge)!

Breakfast - a great selection of pastries, breads, hams (chorizo, salami etc) and cheeses. A fresh fruit salad each day with plenty of other nice things. If you are expecting a large cooked offering you will be disappointed; there was a selection of scrambled egg, fried egg and bacon (although this was quite tasty it was something that was not replenished/replaced). Importantly the breakfast room was lovely with plenty of space and a lovely lady working hard to ensure everyone was pleased - we certainly were each day!

Location - overlooking the Royal Palace/Jardin de Sabitini. Walk out the front door, trun left and at the underpass cross to the right and walk up a slight hill and you will be at the Palace and very close to the Madrid tour bus stop number 11. Turn right and you will come across a lovely ice cream shop Tutti Frutti about 60m away. Near the Royal Palace you will see a lovely restaurant La Mi Venta (delicious iberico ham, cured beef etc. alongside tapas and great service!). The Plaza de Oriente and garden is gorgeous for a walk, chill in teh shade.
The other side of the Palace (10mins walk) up a small street is a restaurant called Korgui (an absolute must for their 12euro lunch menu of fusion style, and traditional food - fantastic food, mojitos and service). The location is at one end of Madrid, but in our opinion this was perfect to catch the tour bus, or if needed public transport; although we stuck with the tour bus (25 euro for 48hrs/adult).

A visit to Retiro park is lovely with a big laken (with small rowing boats or a larger boat that circles the lake for 1.50euro each), lovely gardens, play park, cafes and so on. However beware of scammers/pick pockets. We noticed a couple of kids (male 16/17 and female 11 acting strangely, running very close to some tourists who had cameras/bags and then when a police car drove by they disappeared in behind a pile of shrubs and then reappeared 'acting' to play/chase each other again. Also an older girl was asking for signatures, she changed her top and reappeared at the other end of the park (others appeared when she was hassling a couple) - just be careful at all tourist attractions, but police presence is high.

A trip to the zoo was also great for our son. It has a great array of animals and a Dolphin show (12.50euro taxi each way and 20 euro per adult entrance fee is quite pricey, but a nice way to spend 4 hours).

All in all this was an ideal spot to explore Madrid, with a comfortable and modern feel. They have a wonderful roof terrace to take in the views of the Palace (and bring a drink up to). This was great for letting our son burn off some energy. We recommend this hotel for all travelers, especially those with children due to the kitchenette for snacks, fridge etc..The bathroom had a bath and shower with lots of toiletries (including tissues, shower gel, shampoo, comb, toothbrush etc.) The only drawback was the pillows/bed - it is always difficult to get a good bed on holidays though.

We used airport transfers for a pre-booked return taxi. On arrival our buggy was delayed in the airport and we just caught the taxi driver leaving (he didn't give much time). On our return the taxi didn't materialise. Also they charge about 10euro more each way than what the taxis at the airport would charge (30euro set fee each way).

Room Tip: Be careful when you book, we waited an extra week and got the top room at 30% less than a medium lev...

Very well located and easily accommodated our family of four. All rooms seem nice. It was rainy the whole time we were there so we didn't use the terrace. Parking is not very convenient but what else can you expect in the heart of Madrid. Very helpful front desk staff.

We booked a suite at a very reasonable price for three days. We had a large sitting room and separate bathroom and bedroom. Very spacious and clean. The kitchen had everything that you needed to make a snack or have coffee. You would never get such a fantastic place at this price in England. The hotel is in a great location for exploring all the major sites. Don't be put off by the fact that it is near an underpass - it is perfectly safe to walk around. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. Great breakfast with plenty of choice. When we go back to Madrid this will be the place that we will stay in. Book it now.

Room Tip: we stayed in room 67 - had small balcony but ok for 2 chairs and table for breakfast with Palace vie...

Well Tripadvisor does it again, with the hotel pretty much as per other reviews.

Check-in was slick and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and modern, with a small cooker, fridge and microwave and items of cutlery if you fancy a bit of do it yourself cooking. There is a flat screen TV and a small dining table and the bathroom has a reasonable size walk in shower. At least for my room, there is no view of the Palace though, looking out onto other residential properties that are a bit tired looking at the rear of the hotel. The TV channels for English speaking only is limited to just one channel, but I didn't come here to watch the T.V but there is free Wi-Fi so you can catch up on news etc via your laptop/iPad etc.

A room safe was included and for the 93 Euro per night I really can't quibble for a city hotel. The breakfast was offered at an extra 11 Euro but I went elsewhere to eat.

For those travelling by Metro, the nearest stop is located about a 10 minute walk down the hill at Principe Pio. For those travelling from Madrid airport, it is about a 45 minute trip and costs 5 Euros taking first line 8 (pink line from the airport) to Neuvos Ministerios (last stop on line 8) and then taking line 10 (Blue) to Principe Pio, its then a walk up Cuesta San Vicente. I considered taking a taxi at first from the airport but the Metro is easy to use, the trains are modern and clean, its cheap and appears to be safe although note that there were a few people begging on the train but they were not hassling anyone.

The hotel is located very near to the Palace and there is a very nice pedestrian area adjacent to the Manzanares River near to Principe Pio metro station and the Palace. Nearby there is also a mix of restaurants and bars.

A final nice touch was a complementary bottle of wine (Rioja) and chocolates.

Just note the bar on the top floor viewing area is not up and running until as I recall, June.

Would I return. Certainly.

Room Tip: Not sure if they have rooms facing the Palace, but worth asking. If they do not, then if you are lo...
