It is probably.more accurate about Madrid than New York. At midnight, the area is as vibrant as during the day.

On a trip to Madrid, it's on the way so why not. Walk through, take some pictures with the cool old buildings and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the Spanish capital. Porque no?

Madrid's very busy and very very crowded main square. Nothing really to see here except for zillions of tourists. There is historical significance here regarding events in Spain's history, but when we were there it was unpleasantly jammed packed - not an area to spend time in. Walk through it quickly and move on, or avoid.

If it's people you like to see along with fun food and frolic then this is the place for you. Easy to reach by metro. Beware of pickpockets though.

The square looks stunning with different historical buildings and thousands of souvenir shops and restaurants all over the place.
