“One of the best places to visit in Madrid!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2010

Great place to visit on a Tuesday evening from 6-8; it’s free! The Museo del Prado houses a magnificent collection of European art from Velazquez, Goya, El Greco, Murillo and more. There are also several pieces by French, Italian, British, Flemish and Dutch painters. What a great place to visit if you truly enjoy European art.

“Unmissable, FREE after 6pm”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2010

Wonderful museum and FREE after 6pm. Definitely worth going more than once. The works of art are unparalleled and the museum itself is very well organized and run. Lots of other sites in the area too. DO NOT MISS if you are in Madrid.

“A Must See!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2010

We visited the Prado in mid March 2010. Plan on a minimum of 3 hours for your visit. The museum is filled with masterpiece after masterpiece. Toward the end of the museum are works by Bosch, namely "The Garden Of Earthly Delights." You could spend all day looking at this painting just trying to figure it out. They also have a good gift shop where you can buy prints of a lot of the works.

“Go when it is Free”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2010

It is easiest to approach the Prado knowing what it has to offer. My girlfriend and I went there specifically for Goya, Velasquez, and El Greco and we really enjoyed our visit. There are also a few Rembrandt paintings that we saw. We used the floor plan to see all the paintings that we wanted and left. We went on a Saturday night when it was free and it was definitely worth it. But take a look at the online floor plan before you go so you don't feel overwhelmed.

“Take advantage of the free days!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2010

Spent 2 hours on a Sunday evening. The line was around the corner, but moved very quickly. The museum is massive and easily could spend a day or two in there. We visited the highlights including paintings by Goya, Valasquez and other Spanish painters. However, my favoirte painting was the Garden of Earthly Delights, which was done by a Flemish painter if I remember correctly. Definintly a must see!
