The service was excellent since the check in process. Everyone makes a great effort to please you. The rooms are beautiful and very modern. The bar at nite is lots of fun and romantic at the same time. Hotel is next to all the shopping you would ever want in Madrid. Only low point, the restaurant. We paid over $130 Euros for eggs, bacon and fries. Orange juice was $15 euros each. That left us with a bad taste in our mouths after such great experience in this hotel. This is the only reason for not rating this hotel as excellent. Overall perfect.

I must say, this hotel is by far the best we've stayed in. Since I am in the hotel business, I know quite a lot on service and hotels and my opinion on the staff is above all expectations - professional, caring, friendly and with extremely high service level. The room was really spacious, facing the main street, luxurious and fashionable. You could notice every small detail that was there only to make your stay as memorable as possible. We would like to express our uttermost gratitude to Irene from the reception who ensured our 100% satisfaction and took the best care of us as a hotel employee ever could. Breakfast was fresh, and highlighted the taste of Spanish culture. Bellboys were always there, making sure they could assist us at any point. There is a really nice small park right in front of the hotel with small and long romantic fountains next to park benches for a romantic evening. Will definitely return there at first possibility.

Room Tip: Book a room on as high floor as possible, facing the main street ;)

I liked this hotel last year when I spent some days there with the family. Staff is very friendly, concierge is professional, location is proper and service is efficient an amicable. Room we had was very spacious and very clean and though rate was on the high side yet it is by far the best place in Madrid.

We stayed here for 4 nights in August which is the time that all of Madrid decides to take a vacation so pretty much everywhere we went was empty. Even the hotel itself was barely occupied and it was rare that we saw anyone else. Apparently it's also the hottest part of the year and many visitors don't want to brave the heat either.
However the hotel is beautiful and next to an "El Corte Ingles" which is like a big department store/supermarket thing. All the staff are very courteous and helpful, they all spoke English well which was especially relieving at breakfast. The buffet breakfast is really good, there's a big spread of meat, bread, cereal, yogurt, fruit, cheese, etc and you can order off the ala carte menu if it isn't enough for you, it's included in the buffet cost. I recommend you purchase breakfast when you pay for the room as it's a lot better than any places nearby and you can eat outside on the terrace.
The rooms are clean and tidy with air conditioning and our room had a swanky marble bathroom. The toilet had issues accepting toilet paper but it handled everything else just fine. There's also a good wi-fi connection in the room and we were able to use the business center to print a few documents we needed.
The location is Salamanca district which is the swanky neighbourhood lined with boutiques like dior, chanel, etc and it ends in a beautiful garden that leads straight to the prado museum. It's a fair walk, about 20 minutes to the center but we didn't care. The city was so beautiful that we didn't mind walking everywhere and the traffic was so calm we could get pretty much anywhere we wanted for 6-7 euros (this was in August).
In the end, it was a great place to stay and we would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an out of the way hotel with a lot of class :)

Room Tip: Make sure buffet breakfast is included, definitely worth it.

We originally had reservations to stay at ME Madrid but changed our plans several weeks ago after reading several recent negative reviews of that hotel. Best choice we could have made. Villa Magna is a low key luxury hotel with excellent service. A short taxi ride to the Prado, so perhaps not quite as well located as The Ritz or The Westin, but a quick walk to shopping along the streets in Salamanca. Our room had a king size bed and incredibly soft sheets. Contrary to some other reviewers, we heard no street noise at all, and our room was on the third floor facing the road. Lovely breakfast buffet, we sat on the terrace and ate outdoors every morning. Madrid in August is very quiet, many places close for vacation, but the concierge was extremely helpful in recommending restaurants and tapas bars that were open. Overall, highly recommend.

Room Tip: See if an upgrade is available from the basic Magna room, which is lovely but on the small side, especially for Americans accustomed to more space.
