...at this property. Hotel is always charming, this time it was the individual/ non usual Christmas decoration. Staff is well trained and friendly. Despite we got an upgrade we "disliked" the bath room (e.g. no door between toilet and shower, no bidet).

Room Tip: Madrid's lifestyle let people come back late night! Try to avoid rooms close to corners - despi...

Dear Tripadvisor
Dear Tripadvisor
Thank you for your nice review and for coming back
I was happy to read you noticed our Christmas decoration as we used the Westin brand lens
“NATURE being the main element”. At the entrance of the hotel our festive "Hanging Garden", on the lobby table an open “Terrarium” combining natural elements with hints of seasonal colors and decorative objects with a nature inspired twist. In the main hall a “Westin” tree with only references to the beauty found in nature and under the crystal dome another tree made of a combination of natural plants and flowers. After 101 years of heavenly ornamented Christmas trees with balls, garlands and Nativity scenes we made that change

Stayed here for a few days on the last leg of our BCN, VALENCIA, MADRID trip. Hotel is in a great location and is very nice like most Westin's. Check in was great and they upgraded us to a suite which was beautiful. Beds and showers are comfy and service was good with one bad experience. I called down to the reception desk to ask a question and the receptionist said she was busy, said good bye and slammed down the phone (yes on purpose)! I could not believe it! Spoke to the Manager about this and he said he would speak to them to address the issue and agreed that it was rude behavior.

Otherwise the stay was good. We ate the buffet breakfast daily here too and it was good. The dining room is beautiful.

Dear Tripadvisor
Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. Let me first of all apologize for the unacceptable behavior of the receptionist who damages the reputation and image of the personal service we want to give. We have addressed this issue and can assure it won´t happen again
Best regards

Stayed a very comfortable 3 nights at the hotel. Love the ambiance & old style historical charm. Conveniently located within walking distance to Musuems, shopping areas and attractions. Hotel staff is super curteous, attentive & helpful. Complimentary coffee or tea is delivered to room upon request. Staff took the initiative to give a complimentary upgrade. Bed promises a very good sleep. No complains at all.

Room Tip: Ask for higher floor to enjoy the view

Our flight was booked with British airways from terminal 5. As Iberian airways are the partners our flight to Madrid was with them. We were very disappointed as we should have been offered a snack on the flight but we were not and had to pay for everything including a drink. As our flight was at 9.15am we had been up very early and were under the impression we would get breakfast on the flight. VERY unhappy with BA. Should have flown with EASY JET. On the way back the flight was with BA and we were looked after on the flight with a snack and free drinks. Why did this not happen on the way to Madrid I don't know. So you should check before you fly!!!
The hotel was excellent service was very good. Felt very relaxed during our stay. I would recommend the sauna to be a bit bigger than it is as it is shared between men and women. You can hardly sit more than 3 people in it any more and you would be on top of each other.
I missed not having tea making facility in the room even though we could have one cup of tea or coffee delivered to your room any more I suppose you would have to pay.
The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the rooms spacious. The concierge was very helpful and so was the rest of the staff. It made our New Years special.

Room Tip: We were upgraded to executive rooms thanks to our friends. The rooms were very spacious. It would be...

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel at the end of our trip. Bed was a King and very comfortable. Room size and quality were good. Service was very good with a great recommendation for dinner. Room service was also very good. Great Location for going for a run with a big park about 4 blocks away. There was a garbage strike on during the time we were there so the streets were a bit of a mess but around the Hotel it was clean.

Room Tip: Get a room reasonably close to an elevator -- big hotel!

In an ideal location, only a minutes walking distance to museum attractions, this hotel excels at all of the fine points. The palace structure itself is lovely and plush. You feel like royalty as you meander through the public areas. Include breakfast in your reservation or add it upon check-in as it is served below the colored glass dome and has delicious choices including churros to dip in chocolate. I am only too familiar with the French croissant and have eaten hundreds in Paris and was so surprised that the Palace could outdo most Parisian bakeries! Of course the Gen'l mgr. Marc Lannoy and his assistant Olga Lafuente can take credit for the attention to detail and refinement at this property. He has assembled a competent and cordial staff (my check in and out was flawless!). If the opportunity arises, book a stay here and prepare to be spoiled. I absolutely loved it.

1900's restored luxury hotel , true 5 star service . Lacks the amenities of newer resort hotels but makes up for it with old style charm . Incredibly well located in centre of Madrid . Excellent breakfast service and first class restaurant . Staff and management magnificent . Will use again .
