We recently stayed at the Palace and were very impressed with the hotel, location and outstanding service.

The concierge was extremely helpful and polite. Great location! We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Madrid

Pros of this hotel: good location, beautiful historic bar on the premises, big rooms, friendly and helpful staff. A few things I did not enjoy were the fact that the room was stuffy and a bit warm, and the bar costs $25 for one drink, which is way too much (I get that a hotel bar like this is basically trying to keep people out and that's why the prices are so high but still, come on). I am SPG Platinum and I had to ask for the suite upgrade (I was offered one on the 1st floor and ending up going with a single room with a view of the fountain). All in all this is a good place to stay if you want to rack up your SPG points; but you might prefer a smaller hotel if not with a big party. Tip: the Tabernas on the side street next to the hotel are all very good and much, much cheaper for food and drinks than the hotel.

Madrid’s Westin Palace is located in a convenient, central location near the Prado, and within walking distance to Plaza Mayor and the shopping area. The hotel has a luxurious ambience, reminiscent of bygone days. The staff was welcoming of my small dog, even supplying Pepper his own bed, water and food dish, and bags to use when walking the dog. My room was well-appointed, and I appreciated Westin’s “heavenly” bed, which was predictably comfortable. Staff members were friendly and professional. The hotel provides a welcome, relaxing respite from frenetic Madrid.

The hotel is very well located. You can walk to the Prado and the Reina Sofia and the train station in about 15 minutes. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were very helpful with directions, restaurants suggestions, mailing letters etc. There is a Starbucks which I am embarrassed to admit I appreciated. We were upgraded to a very nice room. My only complaint was that breakfast was not included in our room rate - and the charge for breakfast was ridiculous.

Room Tip: There was wifi but it did not always work in the room. our room was quiet - on the se...

We enjoyed a fabulous stay in this historic hotel in Madrid. The palace is a city hotel well located for exploring the city on foot. Service was very good and breakfast or brunch in the rotunda is a must. Bathrooms are very well appointed and bed were very comfortable. Concierge great help with train tickets and maps. I would definitely stay here again. Rooms vary greatly so be sure you know which category you are guaranteed. Loved Madrid and this hotel added a great deal to our trip!

This was our 1st time visiting Madrid Spain & this hotel had the Best location! Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. Room was very clean & spacious--bathroom had 2 sinks & was very ample in size. There were 2 disappointments that we had----hotel advertises free wifi but the only place you were able to get the free wifi was in the lobby & not in the room. The other disappointment we had was 1 night we came back to the hotel & wanted a nightcap. We went into the lounge & waited for 20 minutes & nobody waited on us. We got up & left. Other than that this is a very classy hotel

Second time staying at the Palace. Good experience. Stayed twice during the same trip. One of our check-ins was a great experience (thanks to Alberto at the SPG counter). The second was less than desirable as our room was not ready at 4:30 PM (despite being SPG member and being assured noon check in through AmEx FHR program). Well a promised 15 minutes, turned into over an hour of waiting for our room. That's the negative. The hotel is large, clean, rooms are comfortable. Good service at the bar and restaurant. Very nice buffet style breakfast is offered. Would certainly stay here again. Hotel management needs to hammer out a few gliches with front desk and check in (especially for repeat customers and members of a loyalty program).

Room Tip: Junior suites are generous in size if you like to spread out a bit more.
