We recently stayed with our family, and could not have been more pleased. We needed connecting rooms, and they were amazing. We felt like we were in our own apartment. The staff was incredible. The concierge was spot on with the restaurants we were looking for, and took care of all of our needs. The breakfast is a must...again the staff is amazing. We were so pleased and cannot wait to go back!

Room Tip: We had connecting rooms on the 5th floor facing out....they were perfect.

This is a classic hotel in Madrid that never disappoints. It is pricey but very elegant. You think you are back to the 1800's but with modern facilities. The staff means to help you and make you feel at home. It is centrally located and can walk from there to many destinations. It is easy to walk to Atocha Train Station and have a short ride to Toledo (40 minutes) in a fast train and return to Madrid the same day. Walking through old Madrid is easy to do from this hotel, not to mention that El Prado is just a block away. I do think the prices for a drink at the classic bar are a bit expensive but certainly very good, though they served no snack with the drinks!

Room Tip: Stay away from the Neptune Fountain, it can be noisy. You can look at the fountain from the sidewalk...

Sometimes, after two weeks in Europe, you want a hotel that feels like home. On the other hand, you want to have one more night to experience local charm. The Westin Palace ticks both boxes. The room was fantastic and large, with all the Westin amenities, including that oh-so-familiar green tea lotion and washcloths - a rare find even in a 5 star hotel in Europe. I used Starwood Cash & Points so paid only $100 for the room, and was pleasantly surprised to find myself on the top floor, the Starwood Preferred Guest floor. The hotel has abundant old world charm, and I was even offered free room service coffee with warm milk after my wake-up call (which I'll take over a Starbucks in Europe any day). For an expensive hotel, the bar was very reasonable - I ended up having a few tapas and some wine for a fairly small price. And you can't beat the location - just a stone's throw from the major museums, and there are some very nice and very cheap tapas bars within a few blocks.

Only stayed the one night in July but absolutely no complaints. Booked an Executive Room which had all the usual amenities other than tea/coffee making facilities. Starbucks on the ground floor and a whole range of bars and restaurants within a short walk. Five minutes away from the Prado and ten minutes to the Botanical Gardens. Ideal for a city break or a business trip, would certainly return.

I stayed at this hotel June 27 through the 29th and I must say I loved this hotel! The location was PERFECT! Right in the heart of all the tourist attractions. The Restaurant staff were amazing! They took really good care of me on both nights I went there for dinner, the food was so delicious! Shout out to the Chef! I will definitely come back! Thanks

This hotel has probably the worst customer service I came across.Thorough my stay I was greeted only once... by a room maid.

Check-in experience wasn't exactly welcoming or professional. No simple good morning or how are you, nor any explanation as to what SPG Gold benefits are at The Westin Palace. At the end of checking in no help offered with the luggage.
And the consistently bad guest service continued with the night staff members who were more interested in chatting to each other then to acknowledge and greet guests returning at 2 am.

Hotel's impressive grandeur is most evident in public areas but not so much in the bedroom. Although fairly spacious, bedroom was rather basic in terms of style and furnishings. I expected it to be more opulent to reflect hotel's grandeur.

Not impressed with the level of service so far I decided not to try out the hotel's restaurant or the bar, instead I ventured outside where I had delicious dinner and good night out in nearby streets full of bars and restaurants.

Overall, a grand hotel that unfortunately is let down by the poor service.

Room Tip: If you prefer room with the view, mentioned at the check-in, otherwise you end up in the room facing...
