This is an extraordinarily beautiful and gracious hotel with levels of service which must be experienced to be believed. We had a room with a view of Neptune's fountain and the church of San Jeronimo.Breakfasts were served in the atrium with the light streaming in. If I must single out a person it must be Javier Martin from the concierge desk. This courteous man will arrange anything even tickets to see Real Madrid on short notice!!! We will be back!!!

Being a Westin, you can expect the heavenly bed and shower. It is an iconic hotel steps away from the Prado museum and walking distance to most sights in Madrid (15 min walk to the Puerta de Alcala and Parque del Retiro). We were first given a room with a terrible view but as I was with a friend who stays there often she had booked a room with a view of the Nepune Fountain and the Prado museum. We were changed rooms and I can sincerely say that it made the world of difference being able to look at that great view. Also, the rooms facing the fountain are larger than the others. Food wise we only had late snacks at the bar which opens until 2 am and were great with great service. For breakfast there is a great coffee shop across the street and here is also a Starbucks in the hotel building. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Room tip: In front of the Neptune Fountain

When I studied in Spain in college. I promised myself that when I was adult, I would return and stay at the Palace. Over the next 20 years I would frequently travel
to Madrid staying at various Hotels
That were dictated by my job.

Then coincidentally - i turned 40 and my brother was going to be in Madrid so
A family vacation was planned!

The Palace hit very expectation i
Had dreamed off.. I had Junior suite overlooking Calle Alcala.. the breakfast although a splurge was great. most days we just went to Plaza Santa Ana and let me nephew play in park while we drank endless cafes

The service was impeccable! My nephew loves kinder eggs and he kept leaving
The uneaten chocolate in my room
And every night at turn down they would place on plate

The bar made a mean martini! And there was constant flow of well healed madrilenos each evening

The room we had was very luxurious although a long walk from elevators. Surprised that we had to call housekeeping for usual toiletries. No tea or coffee facilities in room, a complimentary tea provided. The breakfast was amazing, we ate & ate, you must check out the decor it's just beautiful. Also book direct with the hotel for a better deal. Beware of extra taxes.

Room tip: Some rooms are a long way from elevator.
