“Good location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2014 via mobile

The location is very good but the hotel is far from four stars. Anyway, good value. There are just some minor issues that were amentioned in other reviews.

Our room had a great view to the Gran Via without any street noise when the balcony door was closed.

Stayed August 2014, travelled as a couple

Just come back from a 4 night stay in this hotel. Following a review I called and asked for a room with a balcony or window on the main road. We got a room with a window on Gran Via on the 5th floor. No noise to mention/ The room was an average size adequately equipped but the bathroom was on the small size but not lacking. The air-conditioning worked well and the internet connection was provided free for all our iphones and ipad free and without hassle. Breakfast was satisfying with some variety but not extensive. The staff were helpful and obliging.

The outstanding feature of this hotel is the location. It was 2 minutes from the Metro and near the most common attractions, within walking distance to the plaza del sol, plaza mayor, the Prado and Retiro park. I stayed last year at the Atlantico hotel on Gran Via which is more than 50% dearer and I can say that not much was better than this hotel. It is excellent value for money.

Room Tip: cant say as I only tried room 510 and had no complaint.

Right of the Gran Via. Metro station is right downstairs. One of the Big Bus Tours stops is across the street. Free Internet. We got lucky to get a room with a balcony. Get there early and ask for one. You can not beat this hotel for location and price. Only negative part is probably the small elevators.

Room Tip: Ask for Balcony.

Recently stayed at this hotel.
Paid for a larger upgrade with free mini bar, found that it wasn't really worth it. Location of hotel is great transport and shopping extremely close by.
Hotel is old and the corridors really need a facelift.
Bed was hard as a rock so didn't have the best sleep.
Was quiet and large breakfast too.
Noticed abit of a language barrier too not everyone spoke English well.
Not a bad hotel but not what I thought from other reviews I read.

Seen a lot of negative comments but this is a fine value for money hotel in central Madrid and the staff are lovely. Maybe they weren't lovely to the other reviewers cos they was moaning too much! Breakfast is nice buffet spread over 3 hours in a lovely dining room you can linger as long as you want, bar is lovely free cava every evening, with do is free and there are also two nice modern computers in the lounge and a printer

Room Tip: We were on the 8th floor at the back no view but quiet

This hotel is very central . From the airport you can get there in about 30 minutes using the metro, the nearest station is Gran Via.
The reception is small, discrete entrance door. We stayed on the 8th floor. No much of a view. The room was a decente size, comfy beds, nice bathroom. The shower is inside the bath and becomes very slippery when wet, be very careful.

The best thing about this Hotel was just the location. It's right in the city center of Madrid (close to Gran Vía). Rooms could pass as standard. The most disappointing thing was the tiny reception but it may be ignored for only an overnight stay.
