This place is located on Plaza de Angel. Close to Plaza Santa Ana, in the middle of Madrid. You will be close to almost anything. A small walk from the metro stations of Anton Martin or Plaza Puerta del Sol this is really in the thick of things.

A little old and in some need of updating this is still a decent hotel, nice bed, although the bathroom and shower in my single room was abit on the smaller side of things.

PERFECT LOCATION. Staff very nice and are bilingual. Had a room issue and they moved me with no problem. Hotel is a NON SMOKING HOTEL!!!! They do have breakfast for 8 euro (bit high for breakfast) you can go down the block for much cheaper. My only complaint with this hotel are the beds. they are ROCK HARD. both rooms. Very very clean. No carpet, Wood flooring instead better option! Bathrooms are very clean and nice size. I will stay there again

Helpful hint: YES you can get to the hotel from the airport via metro. You will take Aeropurerto (L8) to L10 Nuevos Ministerios then L1 from tribunal to SOL. very easy.

I would have given this hotel a 5 if it wasn't for the rock hard beds~

The hostal is in a great location within easy walking distance of the Sol metro and museums.
Simple clean accommodation and friendly helpful staff. Rooms at the back of the hostal don't have a view but are quieter. Prices are very reasonable for a capital city. The air conditioning is good.

Room Tip: Internal rooms are quieter but a bit dark.

Excellent location just off SOL with a multitude of cafés and restaurants in walking distance.free wi-fi and a free safe in the room was a great plus .Breakfast a little basic but more than adequate .Staff friendly, efficient and very willing to share their local knowledge .The room, with an excellent shower ,was cleaned daily so a good value venue for a city break .Would definitely use again .

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a balcony overlooking square - but these can be noisier ,especially at weekends...

Located on a lively plaza, lots of restaurants nearby, easy walk to museums, Retiro park, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and many other attractions. Clean room, nice bed and towels. Double windows block noise from plaza when (or if!) you want to sleep. Friendly, helpful staff. Next time we visit this fabulous city, we will definitely stay at Hostal Persal!

We really enjoyed this hotel. The location could not have been better. The entrance to the hotel is in the middle of a pedestrian plaza with all types of stores and restaurants right outside the door. The Plaza del Sol is just down the street and everything we wanted to see in Madrid was within walking distance. And there is a metro stop very nearby, so getting to the hotel from the Attocha train station was extremely quick and easy. Getting to the airport was a bit trickier, but the hotel staff told us what we need to do. The hotel staff spoke English and were friendly and helpful in general.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, though a bit worn. The rooms were tight by our American standards, but certainly spacious by European standards. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and had plenty of space. There was occasionally a bit of noise from other guests coming and going in the halls, but it was not too disturbing.

There was one problem though. We had two rooms and neither one had working air conditioning. It was a bit toasty at night, but both rooms faced an interior courtyard, so we were able to sleep with the windows open without letting in the street noise. In all fairness, we did not contact the front desk about the lack of air conditioning.

All in all, we felt this hotel was a tremendous value and we would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for an interior room, facing one of the courtyards. Our courtyard had a babbling fountain that w...
