You have probably seen the other reviews but, just to clarify, if you stay in Madrid stay at the Catalonia Atocha. Location: hard to beat (and the taxi driver knew exactly where to go from the airport). Staff: everything you would hope for, helpful, friendly and attentive. We arrived late on the Saturday that Real won the Champions League and, concerned it might be noisy, asked if we could have a room as high up as possible. No problem. Room: quiet, immaculate, bed was seriously comfortable. Would we stay there again: definitely, going back in September assuming its not fully booked!
