Although this place was definitely better last year (as others have remarked), Orio is still a fantastic place to go for tapas. Considering that tapas are said to originate from the Basque region, what better place to try them than at a Basque restaurant? The service is actually decent, the decor is great, and the ambiance is always an enjoyable one. Although the place can get pretty crowded at night, standing in line for a tiny little snack just adds to the whole Spanish experience.

“Friendly tasty fun Basque food”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

The Pintxo ( tapas) were excellent as was the Basque Cider. one of the best places I have experienced in Madird for stand up tapas and drinks. There is also a full meal menu and tables upstairs for sit down relaxed meals

“This was better last year”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

This is a basque pintxo (tapas) place. The variety of pintxos was much larger last summer. This summer we were disappointed. Hard to find chairs. One or two pintxos is ok not more. Try txacoli, the basque white wine with pintxos.

“Delicious and affordable”
Reviewed 9 June 2014 via mobile

We stopped in here because it was close to where we were staying and loved the serve yourself options. They were all the same price and they count how many you had by the toothpicks left on your plate, which were many. We enjoyed a few glasses of wine and the service was very warm and friendly, all for around 20 euro.
