From the sour face of the receptionist, to the dark and dour room that hasn't been refurbished for 20 years, to asking for room service and they tell you to call Pizza Hut and having a room mini bar without wine, this is really scraping the barrel and is a disgrace to the NH group. Madrid is wonderful but avoid staying here.

I chose this hotel due to its location near the coach station. The area is quiet and very safe, and full of bars, cafes, shops and restaurants.
The building is getting old and that shows. However, the overall quality of the room was good and I had a great sleep. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff is really nice - they let me had breakfast 30mins early, no problems. All in all very good value too, probably because it's not near the classic tourist attractions.
I should note that even though the NH chain of hotels claim they have free WiFi, this is only in lobby and you have to pay for it in the rooms. I still find very dissapointing that the big hotel chains never give you such a basic and relatively cheap service for free, while you do find it in budget and family run B&Bs.

Stayed here for 3 nights and it was an average experience. If you have business near the area or in a small budget in Madrid its a great place to stay. The rooms are on the smaller size but well equipped. If you can ask for a room that has been updated. The breakfast was average. The should change towels soon....some of them were almost transparent.

Room Tip: Try to get a remodeled room.

Great style, amazing breakfast. A bit noisy but I am a good sleeper. The area was nice, not too busy but still close to the places I had to visit such as IE Business School. I missed the English newspaper though.

i have seen many nh hotels around the globe and there is a predictable minimum level to be expected in the hotels of this chain, so does deliver this one.the service is helpful and open, so okay.surprise was that the restaurant is shut down and you only can have a very good breakfast, as in all nh hotels. they offered instead to order courier-pizza service , not everybodies favorite, mine surely not.the single bedrooms are really small, so nothing to spend time in. the bathroom continues the tightness story.almost clean, so no reason to worry but nothing for fans of 100% cleaness.wifi is included and speed is okayish, but dont be impatient.pricing is 3* equivalent with around 70 euros including breakfast.the elevators are old and very small, no fun surely to get stuck inthere.i will not go there again after my four-night-stay, there are better nh alteenatives near-by, but it was worth testing, as almost always.the area of salamanca is nice but this part is rather empty of restaurants and madrid life. there are some bars around but opening hours unpredictable and very local visitors from around the place only.if you have to do business near-by, okay.
