Terrific location and great value for money. The room and ensuite were perfectly adequate. Staff were professional and helpful. Balcony in bedroom a bonus. Would stay here again.
The rooms were clean and had an old world feel. Metro station at front door and about thirty minutes to the airport

My colleague and I stayed there for a week, while attending the Fitur trade show. The location is spectacular, just steps away from Puerta del Sol. The room is large and comfy, with good closet space, nice bathrobes and a great balcony. They offer a basic but good breakfast, good WiFi signal, the staff is extremely nice and helpful and overall, they are an excellent value at a very good price. We will be returning next year, for sure.

Room Tip: Our room (613) had a nice view to Puerta del Sol. With the windows closed, there was no noise at al...

My husband and I recently spent 3 nights at this hotel. The location is great and the room was good. The price is fantastic! The desk staff was very helpful at all times. We loved the lobby on the first floor and the WiFi worked well.We would definitely stay there again.

The location right next door to Puerta del Sol metro station is fantastic. Being in the centre of a very busy part of town you would expect to be disturbed a bit at night, but this is not the case. Rooms are very comfortable and quiet. My usual problem with hotels is that it is either boiling hot or freezing cold. But the night we stayed was perfect temperature, The hotel is on Calle del Arenal. This used to be a very busy road with traffic, but now pedestrianized, which helps with safety if you happen to have children with you. The staff , particularly the young tall guy on reception is very helpful and friendly. We never had breakfast, but decided to try one of the many cafes within a minutes walk. Again all perfect. Definitely stay here again, in fact will be booking a small group (5 rooms) again later in the year.

This hotel is located at the intersection of Calle del Arenal and Puerta del Sol, placing it in the heart of Madrid and convenient to everything. Our third floor room had a balcony overlooking the street, which is for pedestrians only, so we could enjoy the street action from our room. Bakeries, cafes, shops, department stores, the Metro, and the Renfe were all just steps from our door.

The room was adequate, with twin beds, a couple of chairs, nightstands, and a desk. The floors were hardwood, but the ceilings were high so we didn't hear noise from the room above. There was a double closet with built-in drawers and a safe. The bathroom was small, with a bathtub/shower, single sink, toilet, and bidet. The hairdryer required that you hold a button in the entire time that you are drying your hair. The linens were changed daily and the room was cleaned.

Our room was very hot, even with the the thermostat turned down to 5 degrees Celsius and the radiators turned off, so we slept with our balcony door open just a couple of inches and were comfortable, and we grew used to the party sounds from the street below. There are only three electrical outlets in the room: one on each side of the bed and one in the bathroom next to the hairdryer. You will need an adaptor for southern Europe if you bring chargers, etc. from the U.S. The room key card inserts into the wall as you enter to turn on the lights.

There is complementary coffee in the lobby and bottled water for purchase. The elevators are small, holding about three people. The lobby on the second floor is peaceful and furnished nicely. The front desk staff was friendly and made a dinner reservation for us. They also arranged airport transportation for us when we were leaving. We will stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony overlooking Calle del Arenal.

This hotel was underwhelming. While the location is central to many sites and restaurants in Madrid, it is also quite loud in that area and the windows of the hotel are thin, so sleep can be hard to come by. The staff were not at all friendly or welcoming during our stay. The bed was hard and the room was very hot - adjusting the thermostat did not seem to make a difference. A lot of the basic niceties are missing - shampoo/conditioner are not provided, there is no coffee machine, and the towels are thin and nonabsorbent.

I stayed late one night Nov '13 on way back home. Pros: Great location. My room and bathroom were clean. Bed was firm - not bad. The hotel has a nice lobby on first floor (typical of hotels in Madrid). I encountered 3 receptionists (all male) and only one of them was very nice (Xavier or Javier; another one spoke fluent English but he was not very nice). Cons: room was very small although I was supposed to get a double room (the bed was double bed), I could barely move! Corridors were claustrophobic - could barely roll my luggage! There was no sign on each floor indicating which room numbers were which way - I had to figure it out!

Bottom line: I'll probably not stay here again.

Room Tip: Pick one away from the front desk side.
