This hotel is right across from the park and just a few blocks from the train station. Rooms were huge and mine had a nice balcony. Dining choices were limited on a Sunday night and even walking to the square was not too successful. But staff were terrific and I recommend this to anyone not wanting to stay right downtown.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in mid October. We really liked everything about the hotel except there were no bikes available any of the days we were there, even at the HTH hotel around the corner. The hotel should stop advertising bikes if the chain really doesn't have them. (I experienced same in Petit Palace in Sevilla).

The room was fabulous with a view of the park and a balcony. I was concerned about the breakfast since others had commented. It was very very good, The only thing they didn't have was made to order eggs. It had EVERYTHING my husband and I could eat or want.

The staff was very nice, but seemed embarrassed about the bike situation, like it was a common issue.

The location was great only a 15-20 minute walk to the Puerta del Sol.

I would stay here again if staying in Madrid.

Room Tip: High floor , view of the park

We are extremely happy with this hotel. Great location, nice decoration, clean rooms and bathrooms..and the staff! They are great! Across the street the "Parque del Retiro" and 2 blocks from the hotel Puerta de Alcala and Salamanca, great for eating and shopping.
Whatever you need ask the staff, they are all nice and helpful!
We liked everything...just 2 suggestions, it would be lovely to have a coffee maker in the room and a mirror as well!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view...

We stayed las summer for a few days. The Hotel is very nice, different, unique. The building itself is beautiful, and combined with modern good taste design you get the best of both worlds.

Madrid is just like that.

We had a 4 people room, shared with our 2 teenagers and felt, zero, crowed or uncomfortable.

The Wi-Fi works perfect and the location is just excellent.

Really walking distance to Paseo del Prado, across the street from El Retiro. One block away from La Puerta del Alcala. A few blocks from Atocha's train station.

So we highly recommend it.

By the way the B-fast is good, nice girls serve you, excellent attitude.

Great job!!!

The hotel is in a wonderfully renovated historical building just opposite the Retiro Park, just short distances away from the Prado and lots of (upscale) shopping facilities. As it is right on a busy avenue traffic noises might be audible, it did not bother me at all by the way and I slept with the windows open.

Th reception area is small but the welcome is friendly, although checking in did not take place as efficient as in many other places.

The rooms' interior design is very modern. Light colours and a very nice wet cell with rain shower. The beds are a bit on the hard side, as mentioned before. Wifi is free, and every room disposes of a laptop, to be used free of charge.

Breakfast selection is ok, but does not completely meet other brakfasts that I enjoyed in similar hotels. Same holds for the lunches that I enjoyed during a seminar in one of the comfortable seminar rooms.

Concluding, will visit again as of the excellent location, modern rooms and value for money.

This is a clean, comfortable modern hotel in a nice old building right across the street from Retiro Park and walking distance to the Prado, the Reina Sophia Museum and the Thyssen-Boresma Museum, all "must-sees" in Madrid. We got one of the few non-smoking rooms which was in a kind of private alcove at the corner of the building, on the side street, but with a little balcony from which we could see the park. The room was very quiet and there was almost no noise from either the street or the hallway. The beds were comfortable and there was adequate reading light as well as ambient light (not always true in hotels these days).

Breakfast was a large and well-stocked buffet with a big container of fresh-squeezed orange juice, several kinds of breads and sweet pastries; eggs, cheeses, meats, jams, and other things I can't even remember.

The desk staff was very nice and helpful, gave us good suggestions on getting around, and got us an early taxi to the train station the day we left.

We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a no-smoking room if it matters to you. Spain does not yet have a ban on smoking in hotels.

GORGEOUS hotel in a retrofitted building so the lovely historic exterior has been combined with cutting-edge modern rooms.
Directly across the street from Retiro Park with park-view rooms providing breath-taking views.

Front Desk staff could not have been more helpful!
We arrived on a Saturday and with the lovely Maria's assistance were able to get a reservation for that evening at a very popular restaurant with just a couple hours notice.
Then Sunday, when we wanted to visit the historic Rastro flea market and a bike race had the whole city cordoned off to traffic, our Front Desk clerk (again: Maria!) literally RAN to get us a cab willing to deal with this traffic nightmare.

Rooms are spacious, beautifully appointed with free WiFi and very comfortable.
Bar is cozy with relaxing armchairs and a small but tasty menu of sandwiches.
Breakfast buffet is substantial and relatively inexpensive for the convenience of having it right downstairs.

Upscale neighborhood located very close to The Prado and good shopping close by.
Visit the nearby Vliat pastry shop and DO NOT PASS the brownie!!!
