One of the promoters on the street convinced us to come in here for a drink. Its your typical Irish pub with lots of drunks watching their futbol.

I have been in O'connell and it's fine... but then moved to Dubliners, I was the very last one to leave and two minutes after leaving I realize I had forgotten my backpack so I knocked the door and nobody oppened it (I could hear there were people inside). On the next day I was there before it oppened, so I was the first one to enter it (with somebody I found to have to key) as I realized I was stolen from the staff of the bar, they took all the money I had and my sunglasses. Unfortunately I was running to the airport and I could not go to the police...! Do not enter there if you don't want to be stolen from the staff.

Everywhere you turn in Europe there's another Irish pub. Some are very good while some leave you wondering why you ever went in.
In Madrid, there are two Irish pubs very close to each other near the Puerta del Sol and we stopped at both. O'Connell Street was the one we liked better and the one we tended to return to.
The food is actually pretty good for pub food and they have several specials on food and drink running much of the time, like two-for-one pints and such. The service was excellent.
It's loud and it tends to be a gathering spot for ex-pats from every corner of the globe.
