This walk/park by the Manzanares River is a multi-purpose space. Perfect for walking, biking, rollerblading, skateboarding (there's a skate park by the bridge over paseo Sta Maria de la Cabeza). There are plenty of sights: puente de Toledo, el Matadero, el Invernadero, the Vicente Calderon Stadium, Playa de Madrid. There are also adventure playgrounds dotted along the length of it, perfect for kids big and small. If you fancy a coffee or drink, there are plenty of bars, the most popular being cafe Madrid Rio near the principe Pio end. It stretches from Casa de Campo to Parque del Manzanares, over 20kms. Well worth a visit.

5 kms long, this is great for walking or bikes. Plenty to see, lots of areas for children to play, swings, slides etc. Great view of madrid football stadium, cathedral and palace.

They have done a spectacular job of building this river walk. It is a beautiful spot with well planned use of space, a lot of green space and trees, multiple pedestrian and vehicle bridges and great playgrounds for the kids to use. A lovely walk and a great view of the Royal Palace.

We quite enjoyed it. It would be a great place for a family to spend some time while in Madrid. Lots to keep the kids busy.

During a visit to Madrid in January, I decided to explore the urban riverwalk along the Manzanares river. It was a lovely Saturday, pleasant temperatures for January. Although I only walked 8km, the walk was a lovely experience. A wonderful park area along the river, the riverwalk leads to several park areas and playgrounds and winds around several city neighborhoods. There are restaurants and cafés along the way. In addition, a number of small bridges and walkways connect the riverwalk with the surrounding urban core. The walk is bike-friendly and a magnet to families, skaters, and roller boarders. As a consequence, one can explore and experience the dynamic cityscape of Madrid. The views are also fascinating and ever changing. The walk seems to be a recent project destined to transform the river into an oasis within the mega-metrópolis of Madrid. It was clear that has become a vital conduit for the inhabitants and an enjoyable space for visitors. I plan to return and enjoy the green spaces afforded by the walk.
