“Beautiful river”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

There are beautiful bridges over the river, and specially if you decide to go for a walk, it's amazing. In autumn, all leaves are orange and yellow and red.

“Relaxed walk and paradise for kids”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2014

Best spot for a long walk and paradise for sportive people and kids. Superb place to visit with the family. They have different games for kids smartly done, small fountains where the kids and people can refresh themselves, nice sun bathing area, lots of green space and nice cafe bars around the walk path. Water available in every spot, with the heat of madrid is very wise and well made.

“A kids paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

Madrid Rio is a linear park along the banks of the Manzanares river, from Principe Pío station to the Matadero cultural center in Legazpi. It is an architectural divertimento, a peppering of small pads for the enjoyment of the city. Hundreds of options for kids, from a skatepark to zip lines, a waterpark, open terrazas for everyone's refreshment and the modest river as a backdrop. Walking, skating, biking, jogging, all welcomed. Or just take a nap under the trees. Great for families, superb for kids.

“Fantastic for casual, scenic stroll with friends, jogging”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2014

Madrid Río transforms a part of the city that wasn't worth visiting before as a tourist: What was once a highway is now a beautiful park and promenade running along the river (though the "river" itself is nothing special, to be honest) for over 6 miles. Great views. I went several times - once to stroll and chat with friends and a few times to jog. Great for both. Try to stroll in the area that lets you see the Palace. Highly recommended if you enjoy casual and peaceful city walks or if you are looking for a good place to exercise.

“Madrid Rio”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014 via mobile

This walk/park by the Manzanares River is a multi-purpose space. Perfect for walking, biking, rollerblading, skateboarding (there's a skate park by the bridge over paseo Sta Maria de la Cabeza). There are plenty of sights: puente de Toledo, el Matadero, el Invernadero, the Vicente Calderon Stadium, Playa de Madrid. There are also adventure playgrounds dotted along the length of it, perfect for kids big and small. If you fancy a coffee or drink, there are plenty of bars, the most popular being cafe Madrid Rio near the principe Pio end. It stretches from Casa de Campo to Parque del Manzanares, over 20kms. Well worth a visit.
