We found it by accident and loved it because they are the sides of the river of Madrid who have worked for an open space for families to stay lovers and people with their pets. We saw a young man with a ferret

Nice to go on a walk there, you don't feel like you are in the middle of a huge city. We did a segway tour there, it was a lot of fun!

I walked across madrid rio from Principe Pio to Legazpi and here are my comments:

1- During a typical summer day, it is very hot and cafe, restaurants are not that much around. So try to bring some water(and maybe snacks) with you.

2- There is no thing as a beach with sands there. Just a small crowded place with a fountain for kids. Adults usually take sun bath around this place, while they watch their kids playing.

3- You can hire bicycle in some stands during your walk.

4- It is super fun for kids

5- It is more lovely if you plan to go there after sunrise or near to the sunset time.

6- This river covers a long area maybe more than 20kms across the madrid. So try to have a plan or map before exploring there.

I enjoyed the place very much. It was clean, calm and beautiful. Madrid should now be proud to have a place like this!

After lunch at Mingos, we strolled along the river towards the Metro at Principe Pio. The wide pavement is lined with trees and has small playgrounds dotted along it's length which kept my four year old nephew very happy. We stopped at a restaurant on the opposite side for a drink before exploring a temporary army exhibition. A very very pleasant walk.
