My husband and I stayed here May 1-4 & enjoyed our stay. We arrived really early--some guests were still checking out--so our room wasn't ready. They held our bags while we got acquainted with the city. We found the staff to be cordial & professional and always willing to answer questions. They housekeeping staff were efficient and helpful, especially when we locked ourselves out of our room! I agree the hotel is a little dated, but it was clean, comfortable & convenient. The bathroom was large by European standards with marble floors and counters and a fabulous shower. The hotel is a little difficult for taxi drivers to find. It's located a block from Plaza Espana and convenient to the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, the Almudena Cathedral, & the Puerto del Sol. Please note that this hotel is located across the city from the museum district. A taxi ride to the Prado Museum costs around 6-7 Euros. The hotel is in an urban neighborhood with lots of small shops/bodegos. We got Cafe Americano & Cafe con Leche every morning at the bodego on the corner. Theresa knew all the regular customers and what they ordered. We were regulars after the first day! Lots of shopping and tapa bars as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Booked this hotel after reading the positive reviews. Hotel is located just off the main Gran Via. Short walking distance to most of the main attractions in Madrid. Room was very clean and comfortable. Hotel staff were excellent, friendly and extremely helpful. Would definitely book hotel again.

Good all round 3 stars, close to the Grand Via (main road that runs through Madrid) and walking distance from all the main sites. Rooms very clean and comfy beds. Breakfast simple but very tasty. Nice lobby with 2 computers (but WiFi extra). Fair value.

Main down point was at times excessive noise; not clear if due to poor sound proofing or loud Spaniards or both! Largely quiet during sleeping hours though.

Would I stay here again? Would probably try somewhere else for variety and hopefully more quietness. Nevertheless a decent good value 3 star in central Madrid.

Great place. Very quiet, yet located a street away from the center of the action. Close to everything it seems, and very clean. The room is spacious and there is internet PC in the lobby for quick email check-ups. Room has phone and TV+Cable. Very friendly staff and overall a very recommended spot.
If you are looking for a ritzy 5 star hotel this isn't it, but it's very good value for the pay and you'll be staying in a quiet and clean dwelling space.

The hotel is nice and renovated. It's close to everything, Plaza de Espana, the Palace, Gran Via and 10 minutes walk from Plaza del Sol. The bathroom was brand new, the bed a bit old but OK. The breakfast was also OK. The only problem was the noise. Even though the hotel is on an alley, the windows aren't sound proff and I would wake up at six from the noise. Other than that, we were satisfied, it was very clean and the staff was helpful.

Good location a few minutes' walk from Plaza de Espana (in the heart of Madrid), good price for a comfortable and clean room and breakfast, wi-fi and the free use of a computer in the lobby. Around the corner from 2 friendly local bars. No reason for complaint, would stay there again.

This hotel is in an excellent location, just a two minute walk to Plaza de Espana and the Grand Via, yet it is tucked away down a quiet side street. The hotel is very clean and tidy as was our room. The staff were very helpful. We'd stay at this hotel again without hesitation.
