Madrid is a walking city trip so Atlantico was close to everything. metro and buses were just outside door if necessary. breakfast was good and plenty of variety.the terrace bar was an ideal spot to relax after a day of sightseeing and before heading off into the evening. and a lovely place to encounter fellow travellers - highly recommended. The desk staff were most helpful regarding restaurants.

Great location, clean, very well finished, nice staff, very low price (we had a special offer) and thus outstanding quality/price ratio. Very good breakfasts. Excellent location (we could walk everywhere). Staff very helpful when we had to leave one day earlier for personal reasons. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, including my mother. Madrid is not my preferred city, but this hotel definitely was one of the best things in this vacation.

This hotel is listed on the Madrid “MapEasy” map as “affordable, but dull.” I could not disagree more! Perhaps the hotel has been updated since the map was created, but this was a delightful place. The location was perfect for walking to great sites of Madrid. The room we booked was large with a nice little balcony that let in light and fresh air. The bathroom had a separate sink area and a nice large tub, in addition to a 2-headed shower. The bed was very comfortable as were the desk and chairs. The free breakfast was great; lots of things to choose from. The Ninth Floor Terrace was a great place to have a drink and watch the sun go down.

Room Tip: Some rooms have king-size beds, others two doubles pushed together. Make sure you ask for the one yo...

Right smack in the centre of Madrid. Do not be deceived by unassuming vestibule. Rooms are excellent and impeccably clean. . We had two wash basins in the bathroom and 3 shower heads! we arrived in the morning, but were given a room straightaway. The staff is helpful and efficient. And do not even try to have breakfast anywhere else. You won't find anyhting even close to what the hotel provides for 9 euros.

We stayed for one night on the 8th floor (808) with stunning views over the city roof tops. The room was very large with all the facilities you would need except for tea coffee making facilities! Actually they do have free coffee in the public areas of the hotel. The bathroom was again large and of an excellent standard. The bar/lounge was directly above us but as it closes at 23:00 we were not affected by any noise. We did pop up there at abput 22:30 for a nightcap but it appeared the barman had gone home early so we had an early night! You could hear the sirens from the police and ambulances on the Grand Via but it wasn't obtrusive and my wife and I had a very good nights sleep. The front of desk staff were very helpfull and it was a nice touch to have our bed turned down and a couple of chocolates left on the pillow.

We ate out and found a lovely restaurant called the De Mario across the Grand Via and down a road Correo,2. It was full of locals, which is a good sign. A free glass of Carva, aperitif and a pallet cleanser added to the excellent food available. Great staff and even greater price!
Beware of beggars and in some roads 'ladies of the night'. There is a large police presence though and on speaking to one they have cracked down on pickpockets and Madrid is a very safe city.

The hotel is in an excellent location and is reasonably priced for a city centre hotel on the Gran Via. The deluxe room we had was an internal one on the 8th floor so did not have street noise. The room was big and the bathroom huge, clean and modern but there was a smell in the room which did not go away despite leaving the window open any time we were in. We mentioned it and were told that it was the disinfectant that was used but it was not pleasant.
The top floor roof terrace/ lounge is a good facility and nice to chill out after a day sightseeing. There is also a business centre with computers which was good as the free wifi was sporadic. Some floors supposedly have wifi in the rooms, others have cable access and the wifi in the public areas was not reliable.
The buffet breakfast is excellent and in a light, airy room on the first floor overlooking the Gran Via.
One more point to note is ordering a taxi from the hotel. The hotel does have a shuttle bus service but only at limited times and it is not on the airport bus route so we took a taxi from the airport to the hotel on arrival and it cost less than 30 Euros; on leaving we were again outside the hotel shuttle bus times so asked the hotel to order a taxi for us and we were surprised to find, on arrival at the airport, that there was a 6 Euro surcharge because the hotel had phoned for it; do not know if this is standard but beware extra charges; somehow our fare to the airport came to a total of 43 Euros; a big difference. May be better to hail one on the street?
Overall the hotel is good value but the smelly room and poor wifi would put us off returning.

Room Tip: Check out whether your room floor has wifi or cable internet access. Rooms away from the main stree...
