The room is great and clean. It's about 5 min walk from the Atocha station. 15 min walk to El Prado and Thyssen museums. Staff are helpful and friendly. The room is spacious and decently quiet. The beds are very comfortable with extra pillows. Plenty electric outlets and stable wifi. Awesome 4-star hotel with a tasty price.

Location is only good if you're planning to visit the prado museum, retiro park and atocha station. Its not anywhere near to plaza mayor or RM Stadium or Las ventas bullring. You need to take a train or bus to get to your destination. Room was dark and very small. The bathroom warm water doesn't seem to work. Breakfast was alright. Wide variety of food to choose from, However, if you didn't book your hotel via the website, you have to pay 6 euro/day for wifi!!

Our tour group spent 2 nights here and I would come back again. Our room had a sweet little (small) French balcony overlooking the street and our room was surprisingly quiet. The room was spacious and the furnishings were fine, the common areas were well maintained and the staff was courteous.

It is an older property with both the charm and detractions that comes with older hotels. The breakfasts were fine (we have no complaints), and it deserves its 4-star rating. It is not a 5-star, nor is it a 3-star. It is what it is: a nice, older property that continues to perform its functions very well.

Now, for the area outside: it is ultra-convenient to any number of little places to enjoy a quick meal, including a grocery store that sells marvelous salads that contain absolutely everything needed for a light meal (when one has had their fill of all the excitement and culinary experiences outside the hotel), and the walk to the Reina Sophia Museum is so close and so easy. (The museum entry is free on Mondays from 7 to 9 pm).

Madrid is a city of trees and gardens and such beauty. This hotel fit in so well to the urban neighborhood. Our room space was fine, bedding clean and comfortable, bathroom anemities were satisfactory, and the staircase (huge brass handrails and impressive dark stairs) offered a most delightful option to the often crowded-elevator.

We booked into this hotel for 1 night when we went to Madrid by train to see One Direction in concert. We wanted somewhere within walking distance of the train station and this fit the bill perfectly. Its about a 10 minute walk. Typical city centre hotel with quite small rooms but this is to be expected, our room had a large king size bed and the other rooms we booked had 3 beds in so they weren't really so small. The rooms had wooden floors, air con, average size bathroom with the usual shampoo, shower gel etc., there was a mini bar and a room safe. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was €15 but if you booked it at check-in the price was reduced to €9. We didn't take the breakfast offer as we didn't know what time the kids would be up but we did go for coffee in the morning and it was excellent. The staff was very helpful and polite. All in all a decent 4* hotel in a perfect location for our needs. I would stay here again.

Old, dark and musty, this hotel would struggle to reach 3 stars. My room on the first floor looked out onto a brick internal courtyard which gave almost no natural light or fresh air. Taking the key out of the slot to leave the room left it in total darkness at any time of the day or night. Plumbing noises were very obvious and intrusive. Comfy bed, not as hard as most others in Spain. There may be better rooms?? Good, free wi-fi in the room.
A short walk to the railway station suited my needs, but it's not in a part of the city that is convenient for restaurants etc. A rather dowdy part of town really.

The hotel is a typical centre hotel. Located on a busy but very large road close to the Atocha train station, not far from the Prado or the Botanical Garden.

My room was quite spacious (i have not seen other rooms) and the bed is very confortable (mine was a king size). Free WiFi but you have to pay for breakfast. i have chosen to use ine of the many coffee shops around the hotel for a price of 3 Euro I was able to get a Cappuccino and 2 Croissant.

Rooms have a Flat screen TV 32' with a wide choice of channels ( most in Spanish but also in Italian and English).

The bathroom in my room was spacious and very clean. My room was not reached by elevator but you have to walk a flight of stairs. Good towels and amenities.

Air air conditioning a bit old and noisi but works very well.

Plugs are European

There is no safety lock on the door

Lifts are slow and it appears not all of the. Were working for in the morning I had to wait a long time. There was s large group checking out and it was indeed bothersome.

Room Tip: 800 nmber rooms are locàted on a floor that is not reached by elevator. There is a flight of stairs...

You stay here for one of several reasons: your tour group bus has plenty of space out front to pick you up, you're on an expense account and don't mind paying for wifi or overpriced breakfast, you're leaving from Atocha station early the next morning and you want to be within walking distance. We were in the last category.

The rooms were small by American hotel standards, but generous by European ones. A nice touch were the tiny "balconies" (really ledges with a railing) in the rooms facing the street. (The street noise on the 4th floor was essentially non-existent, but light sleepers may want to ask to face some other direction or for a higher floor). Everything was clean and basically competent. Checkin and Checkout were painless and pretty quick (although we did luck out and arrive between two tour-bus groups. Getting stuck behind 30 people checking in might be a different experience).

The walk to Atocha was quick and uneventful. The hotel delivered exactly what I needed in that respect.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper, ask for a higher floor or to not face the main street below. The bal...
