Stayed at Tryp Menfis when we first arrived in Madrid. We arrived at the hotel at 9am and were pleasantly surprised to find that our room (family room) was ready for us. Very spacious room especially by European standards, more than enough for my husband, myself and our teenage son. Free wi-fi at a reasonable speed even with the three of us online at any given time. Clean room, nice bedding, sufficient closet space. We had a room facing Gran Via so it was a bit noisy but having lived all our lives in the city, it was something we had gotten used to. Breakfast is alright at 9 Euros but you can get eggs, sandwich and a coffee for abt 5 Euros from little cafes just outside the hotel. Most of the day trips and multi-day extended trips leave fr Julia Travel which is about a 5 min walk from the hotel which makes things very convenient esp if you have to lug your luggage along at 8 am in the morning at a chilly -1 degree Celsius temperature!
