“Nice hotel for travelling in business”
Reviewed 21 July 2011

I stayed here four nights in June while participating at a conference. The hotel was nice, very clean, and the rooms were huge, end the bed comfy! So were the bathrooms, as there were kind of two bathrooms in the room. The breakfast was lovely with really all sort of choices, and everything was marked according to how healthy/unhealthy they were. There were different sorts of fresh berries and fresh fruits every morning.
There was a quite nice pool area there also, which I never reached to test out.
The hotel is a big conference hotel, and quite a distance from the city center and the old town. Perhaps 30-40 minutes by taxi. There was a Metro station quite nearby, and one of the lines was straight to the old town. The Spanish staff working at hotel was very nice, but very unorganized, so you really need to have plenty of time when checking in and out e.g. I also missed an opportunity to make a cup of coffee in the room, and a free or at least cheaper Wireless network at the hotel. It was 240 Euro for 4 days.
If I was staying in Madrid just for Holiday I think I would have stayed closer to the old city

Dear Guest,

First of all, we appreciate your comments about your last stay and we are glad to observe that you enjoyed the room that we assigned to you. We recommend you to test our pool in your next stay, we can ensure you that it is very relaxing after a hard work day.

On the other hand, we would like to inform you that our guests can get to the center by several ways, as we have a taxi stop in front of the main entrance, some direct buses to the center and a metro station two buildings far. Normally, if you use the taxi service you should get to the downtown in no more than 15 minutes, but we do not know if, in your case, had traffic jams.

We would like to take the opportunity to tell you that our Internet fast speed service fee is 28 € for three days connection, and we have one and two days access as well. For this reason, we invite you to contact with us if you had any problem in your invoice in order to solve it as soon as possible.

Thank you for your time and we hope to see you soon again in our Hotel.

I have stayed here for the last 5 occasiosns on Business in Madrid, as I find this Hotel has an extremely pleasant ambience with great customer satisfaction throughout and the facilities it has on offer. The staff are always friendly, ready and eager to help you and the rooms are fantastic. You have a choice of resturants in the hotel that have fantastic food and nothing is too far away to get to when you need to travel around Madrid. In addition, this is a great location as it has some fantastic, resturants and bars/ pubs in the immediate area around the hotel should you want to go out as well.

I will stay here again and I hope you enjoy stay as much as I do.

This hotel was an oasis of calm in a very hot and busy Madrid, over a festive weekend. Faultless service from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble for Sr Alcalde, the General Manager and his team of very professional staff.
Upgraded to executive level with complimentary food and drink served all day. Such a treat. However, an even better bonus, on returning to the hotel after a busy day of sightseeing, was to find an outdoor pool.
Everything 5* and more in this stylish and sophisticated hotel. Outstanding buffet breakfast, choice of two other a la carte restaurants and impeccable concierge service.
Direct Metro line into centre of town from Plaza Castilla, a 10 minute walk away. 11 stops and 25 minutes, door to door.
All in all, a wonderful weekend. We would definitely return.
Es asombroso.

Room Tip: Ask for the 15th floor - executive suite

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your marvelous review of the Hotel. I do appreciate your kind comments about the service and food quality.

You have had the opportunity to know our Executive floor, famous for its personalized service, where anyone can feel like a “king”. As you know, you can take the breakfast on that floor or choose our buffet breakfast in the lobby level, where you’ll find a great variety of products.
We agree with you about our outdoor pool, where after a long day, you can enjoy of a swim. Furthermore, after the pool closes, our terrace bar stays open till 2am, where you can flavor your favorite drinks, in a relaxing atmosphere with chill-out music.

The location of the hotel allows reaching the airport and downtown easily, also there is a great variety of services near the hotel, such as restaurants, shops, etc...

Once again thank you for your comments and we are waiting for you.

We chose to stay there for the first night of our european trip as it seemed a safe choice in terms of amenities when we could be up at all hours given jet lag.

They gave us one room and said the connecting room would be available soon. The person staying in that room ended up staying an extra night so we had to move room after we unpacked.

It turns out the internet wasn't available at midnight as they were working on the servers. (They did provide credit against the added fee).

When we checked out their were items on the bill which had nothing to do with anything we had charged.

The hotel was about 4 long blocks walk from the metro station which was about 10-15 stops from various stations downtown Madrid.

The outdoor pool was nice for an urban hotel. Reasonably large -with chairs and grass around the pool.

One other note - when we asked for a dinner recommendation we were given a recommendation to a very touristy restaurant which my family ended up not eating in - after we had walked about 25 blocks to get there.

The hotel beds were good. And they were accommodating on adding an extra mattress.

I should add that the staff were all quite pleasant and professional.

Dear guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post your review on Trip Advisor.

First of all, thanks for your feedback and I hope you all have enjoyed your stay.
I am sorry about the inconvenience in getting the second room but it should be ready when previous guest would leave it. We also apologize about Internet service which usually works properly and, unfortunately, we suffer an external problem from our Internet provider.
In regards to the incorrect items in your bill, we are glad to hear that it was fixed without further inconvenience at the check out. Please note that our mini-bar sensors are very sensitive, causing that when slightly moving any items, they get charged automatically, and removed from the bill afterwards, in case of not have been consumed.
Our biggest aim is that our customers feel like at home, counting with a team of professionals who are always overlooking our clients’ needs.

Once again, thank you for your review and it was a pleasure to host you!

The hotel is not exactly in the center of everything, but it was a short taxi ride away (about 15 mins/ 7-10 euros away) from the center of everything. We went during Easter week and since we didn't want to be completely surrounded in the crowds, this was perfect. When you first walk into the lobby its pretty large and modern. You will find a small cafe kiosk, a beautiful little shop and that is only at the front entrance. As you walk further back there are beautiful seating areas and views to a garden. They have a separate bar area that looks more like a private club and the dinning area is decorated the same way, with large comfy chairs. The service is fantastic any time of the day or night (dinning room is open until very late for dinner) but our favorite time was breakfast! They had approx 5-6 large buffet style stations and anything and everything you were looking for was there!! Amazing and delicious!! Service was great everywhere but Our favorite employee was Mr. Morales. He was charming, always on point and made sure we were always taken care of! Whew! I haven't even descriped the rooms yet! :) stepping off the elevators you felt you were in old world Spain. Classic, traditional and elegant. Rooms were spacious, clean, and well decorated to reflect the hotel. The beds were very comfortable and they even had a pillow menu, so you could find the right pillow if you wanted. (We kept the soft and plushy ones they gave), Had a wonderful time. Loved the service and the staff! Definitely would recommend and go back if i could!
