“Great value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 September 2013

This hotel was booked by my friend that I visited in Madrid. At first I was surprised when I found out the price of the stay. When he told me in which hotel I will stay I expected much higher price as it was rated as 4 star hotel.

From the moment i arrived to the hotel I realized why such low price. Don't get me wrong hotel just needs some refurbishment and it will be a real 4 star hotel as it was before. Currently they are doing some refurbishments. They planned refurbishment correctly as only once I saw the construction workers and heard the drilling, so in my opinion there was no disturbance to the guests.

Staff on the reception was very helpful and nice. I must admit that all of the staff was very nice and their level of English was at good level. Something i can't say for the rest of the Madrid.

Rooms are clean. Minibar well equipped and not overpriced.

I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that this going to Madrid. Location is just 10 minutes’ walk from the town center and 2 minute walk to the closest subway station.

A good clean hotel in a quiet handy location for the main tourist areas of Madrid. Easy public transport access, parking available (fee), free Wi-Fi. Breakfast is plentiful and varied. Worth considering.

We asked for a room for three (two parents and a daughter) and received a huge room with two king size beds, specious bathrooms and a comfortable ambiance.its location is great! it was close to three metro stops and the central synagogue (a 10 minute walk) which made it very comfortable for a sabbath stay. The hotel is also located walking distance from all the central location (30 min. walk). i would surely come back....

Very average hotel. Nothing too great. Spent a week here. They had construction going on in the room next to ours and it woke us up constantly in the morning. They had a water problem too. The water was dirty and we had to let it run for over 10 minutes before it would clear up. We tried to have dinner there and were given microwaved food which was terrible. Breakfast was decent. Staff was so so. Helpful but only if you ask them, they don't greet you or go out of their way to help you. Good location and ok to stay if you're out most of the day. Wouldn't rank it as four star hotel. Good luck if you stay there.

My friend and I stayed two nights here and it's a shame we didn't have more time!

The room was spacious, the bathroom especially - we felt spoilt with two sinks. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiet. The location is great; the metro stop is only down the road and you can easily walk to many of the attractions to soak in the architecture and landscape (except when it's over 35 degrees! It might be a little too warm for walking!) Free wifi was provided. Air conditioner was very handy in the heat.

Breakfast was adequate to give you something to start your morning so you can experience all the wonderful food in Madrid. Check in staff were helpful and polite.

My friend and I had a late night out and arrived after 4am to find the doors bolted shut, but there is a security guard in the foyer that is around to let you in again.

We had a fantastic time in Madrid and staying at this hotel certainly helped. It is great value for money.

We spent 5 days in this hotel. The Alonso Martinez metro station is only a two blocks away from the hotel and you can easily move around. Since we where traveling as a family (2 adults and 2 children) we took a cab and spent the same amount of money as the metro to the main tourist sites: Museo del Prado, Museo Reina Sofia, Gran Via, Puerta del Sol, etc. The breakfast is so complete and even thought its basically the same every day there is so much to choose from that you do not get tired. The rooms are very clean, including the bathroom. The room has a safe and a frigobar. There is also a store close by where you can buy anything you need for a quick dinner. The staff is very helpful and honest. You have free WiFi.

I spent two nights at Gran Versalles and it was everything I needed in a hotel. The room was clean and it was conveniently located. The Alonso Martinez metro station was right next to the hotel and made it quite convenient to get anywhere. Of course, Gran Via and other main attractions are within walking distance as well (15 minutes). What I really liked was that there was a huge cafe right across from the hotel where I had churro, croissant and cafe con leche every morning I stayed there. There's also a fitness center at a discount offered by the hotel.

Room Tip: I had a room on the street and it was pretty quiet overall.. also nice to open the windows and look...
