We spent three nights at the Emperador in July 2010 and would definitely return. We booked a club room as there were three of us and it was very comfortable with plenty of room- no balcony though as others have mentioned. There were tea & coffee making facilities in the room. It is worth paying a little extra for a club room as access to the club lounge was a real bonus.
We were disappointed, however, by the noise level on the night of a wedding party taking place in the hotel. The noise in our room stopped us from sleeping & when we called reception at 2am we were advised that the wedding party would go on until 3am. The problem seemed to be that our room was directly above the function room. They did offer to move us to a different room for the night but at 2am we didn't fancy the upheaval!
Other than this we were happy with our stay at the Emperador. The larfge rooftop pool was lovely- especially after a day of very hot sightseeing. A highlight has to have been watching the world cup final in the clubroom with other guests then heading out to to soak up the atmosphere after Spain had won- fantastic! We would definitely return to the Emperador but would check whether there were any functions planned!More
