Spent a night here on business, the rooms are very large and roomy and the hotel has a nice elegant feel to it. It was close to everything i needed in the centre. The bathrooms and communal areas are well maintained and the breakfast is great. All round perfect for my purpose!

Second visit to this hotel. Great location for sightseeing, rooftop pool definitely a bonus after long day sightseeing. All members of staff pleasant and helpful. When booking in they noticed we were staying 5 nights and changed our room to a better view. Will visit this hotel again.

This hotel is a real gem, perfect location, great rooms, and lovely staff. The best part - the rooftop pool, open long hours, serving food and drinks, plenty of beds etc and all day sun!!!! I went with a friend but the hotel had lots of couples, business people and groups, it seemed to suit everyone.

We stayed here in the Month of May and found this beautiful old restored hotel to be in a fantastic location. The staff were most helpful and the rooms clean and tidy. The breakfast room and selection was fantastic , the roof top pool would of been great but weather wasn't really that hot to use it.

Room Tip: only thing to would say is that our room over looked a wall.. although this was very quite , we had...

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring the city. A metro stop is right outside along with a stop for the "hop on hop off" tourist bus across the street. The Royal Palace is just a few minutes walk away along with many other sights.
The hotel is well equipped and clean.
A couple of downsides but nothing that would prevent us from returning. Firstly as others have stated the breakfast wasn't great. The continental selection was fine but the cooked offerings poor. If we return we will book room only as there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Secondly the price of drinks in the lobby bar were a bit steep. You expect to pay a bit more in hotels but around €15 for a shot of whisky seemed a bit excessive.
There is an abundance of bars and restaurants around the hotel. All offer free tapas with every drink and the staff are generally very friendly.

Stayed five nights in early June at the Emperador in Madrid. Found the hotel ideal within easy walking distance of all the main sights. The rooftop pool and sunbathing area is great for a late afternoon relax after a day strolling around the city. Lots of choice of places to eat/drink at reasonable prices and with great atmosphere within easy reach. Would recommend to friends.
