We spent four nights from Aug 20 to Aug 24, 2014 at this lovely hotel.
We reached early by 10.30 am and were checked in by 11.45. In the meanwhile we were offered a complimentary orange juice and a pastry in the lovely lobby/ waiting area.
The ambiance is beautiful with so much antique furniture and well shined chandeliers all over.
The front desk staff and concierge were very helpful, courteous and professional.
Our luggage was brought to our room, which was on floor seven, quiet, clean with comfortable linens and bed and a nice balcony off our room with a chaise lounge, two chairs and a table.
The room was well appointed though the minibar sat hugely in the room and took up space that could have been used to make the room more spacious.
Included with our room offer were two free bottles of mineral water which sat in the back of the minibar. So when you reach for them, the items shifted out of the way show up on your bill ! So also did the bottles of mineral water that were used within the limit 1
These had to be removed after scrutinizing the bill. I would otherwise have rated this hotel five star.
This is a needless annoyance and the hotel should take care to avoid these errors.
The breakfast service is great ! It was included in our room offer and truly wonderful !
A good hot breakfast as the hotel offers is a must for tourists like us who spent the entire stay traveling in and outside Madrid to see the surrounding areas and the good breakfast is needed for sustenance during these energy draining tours.
We must make a mention of Mr Sergio who was in charge of the breakfast arrangements at the hotel.
He did his best to provide everything we asked for that the hotel could offer for breakfast and did it very very professionally and with a pleasant and friendly manner.
The hotel is lucky to have him in its employ.
The doorman was very friendly and always hailed us a cab which was sometimes twice a day and also instructed the cab driver where we wanted to go.
We highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Room Tip: Higher floor with balconay. In fact ours was a corner room.

Just back from 3 days at this hotel. It's a lovely hotel and only 30 mins on the Metro from the airport. We got upgraded to a club suite and had champagne in our room. I would like to say a thank you to the management for doing this for us. The breakfast buffet is so good with a wide choice for all tastes. The waiting staff in the restaurant are very helpful and will bring you extra little treats like cappuccino and poached eggs instead of scrambled eggs. The hotel is about 5 mins walk to the nearest Metro which you have 2 stations to choose from Gregoria Maranon and Ruben Dario. This is the best hotel I have stayed in Europe and highly recommend. We had room 228 Over looking the main road with balcony which is the best as some of the rooms Over look the terrace which is not as nice view.

Room Tip: Room 228 was perfect for us

We spent a weekend at the Intercontinental Madrid and were totally satisfied with the experience. Great service at reception, a great concierge we used in the evening (never to be underestimated) and the location was just perfect. Breakfast prices were un-necessarily high and that was a shame - there's expensive which is ok and then there's silly pricing like EUR 34 for a continental breakfast. Nevertheless, would certainly recommended.

We started out Spanish Vacation with Madrid and IC Madrid was a great place to start. The hotel is in a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. That being said there is a metro station 2 blocks away called Ruben Dario which was very convenient.

The staff are welcoming and check in was a breeze and we were checked in early although check in time was 3 PM when we arrived at 12 PM we were given a room right away free wifi included which was a huge plus considering we've come from Paris where the Meridien Etoile charged €35+ for wifi per day.

The room itself is beautiful and the size was bigger than what we were accustomed to in other European 5 star hotels.

The breakfast was the highlight of our stay, being halal only eaters we had an array of options to choose from and the breakfast area staff were very sweet and pleasant.

The hotel concierge was extremely helpful giving us guidance about metro stations and directions to the tourist areas we wanted to go to, the concierge helped us book the Toledo half day tour which included a pick up from the hotel and that was an amazing trip well worth the money.

It was a great stay overall, and we would definitely book it again without hesitation.
