The staff's attentiveness is hard to match!

The hotel is located on a pedestrian street parallel to la Gran Via,
within walking distance to the el Corte Ingles shops and popular sites to visit
such as Convento de las Descalzas, Mercado de San Miguel, Puerta del
Sol, as well as three cinemas. There is a metro station nearby as well.

Situated on a busy street a stroll away from Plaza Mayor, a warm welcome when we arrived with the reception staff extremely helpful, they gave us a map of the city and route to walk so that we could see as many attractions as possible. The hotel is stylish, comfortable and clean. Room a bit small, but maybe not one of the better rooms as we got it for a bargain price. I recommend including breakfast as you will miss a real feast!

We stayed here in June and had 3 rooms. 2 of the rooms had been remodeled and one had not. The remodeled rooms were very nice. Very clean, spacious, and nice big bathrooms. One of the rooms was configured so that when you opened the door you looked directly into the bathroom. Not the best configuration. The room that was not remodeled was not as pretty as the other two but still was very clean, spacious and had a nice bathroom. The hotel staff was very friendly and help us with directions and made dinner reservations for us two nights in a row. The hotel is centrally located, half a block to the subway station, easy walk to the plaza del sol, and the Royal Palace. Lots of shopping and restaurants near by, including a grocery store. We were very pleased and satisfied with our stay. If arriving by subway to the hotel get off at the Santo Domingo station. The hotel will be right in front of you.

That was our second time in Madrid and we knew the city already quite well but the last minute decision limited our hotel choices. We trusted the hotel rating in Tripadvisor and we found ourselves in a great location, in a modern and well-maintained environment and surrounded by friendly staff.
Our room was of reasonable size, with a tiny balcony overlooking a side road. The bathroom was spacious and spotlessly clean. We were apparently in the original wing of the hotel as some of the comments we had read did not apply to our cases: all furniture was rather traditional and there was no fancy technological equipment. Instead, we appreciated a lot the electric shutters that allowed us to sleep long after the sun rose. The free (yes!) mini bar was also much appreciated! And the most important of all, the room was absolutely sound-proof!
We did not take the option that included breakfast since we love scrolling around and have hot chocolate with churros. We also did not try the hotel restaurant, even though it looked good, mostly because of the hotel-style uniforms of the staff that made the choice of the restaurant dull and uninspired. It is a pity for a place that has a lot of potential, being in the pedestrian zone and too close to the touristic heart of the old city. With another look, it could have attracted more clients. Not that it was ever empty but it did not seem attractive to us.
The personnel were very polite and helpful. They proposed several attractions and gave us good advices; all of them highly appreciated. I would only suggest that they create a more elaborated map based on the typical city map they distribute where they mark the additional points of interest, because drawing and hand-writing directly on the map is not ideal.
We recommend Preciados without hesitation! Next time in Madrid, we will not hesitate to consciously choose it!

Room Tip: Tell them in advance what you are looking for. They will try to accomodate your wishes

We stayed for 3 nights in June. We checked in very early after a flight from the States and we were very surprised that they had our room ready by the time we finished breakfast in their cafe. We did not expect that but were very thankful for it! If asked to find even one thing not up to par it would be impossible! Location is amazing and we were able to walk everywhere.

While the standard room seemed a bit small, it was still comfortable, even with the roll away we added at the last minute, making the room a triple. The bathroom was large, excellent water pressure, with hair dryer and plenty of towels. The room and bathroom was spotlessly clean! The room was quiet at night and we slept great.

The mini bar was a much appreciated amenity. Who doesn't need a cold bottle of water after returning from a long day exploring this wonderful city!

We booked our room with the option that included breakfast every morning. I would reccommend this to everyone! There was a large variety of food options at the buffet, both hot and cold, and everything was delicious! I love a big breakfast before a long busy day of sight seeing!

The staff was friendly and helpful from the time of booking to time of checkout. I can't say enough about them! Helpful with directions, calling cabs, and a warm hello when we came down in the morning or returning in the evening.

Thank you to the entire staff for a wonderful 3 nights! We can't wait to return!

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in early May 2014 location is fantastic with lots of food options right outside the front door, walking distance to the Palace and other sights, staff were very helpful but found the room a little sterile and not very welcoming we had a standard room at the back of the hotel with a very small balcony, my one complaint was the only wall socket to plug our mobile phones into was over half way up the wall which meant there was no way you could use it so you have to plug everything into the bathroom sockets found this very strange. Would we stay here again no nothing really bad with this Hotel just found it a little un comfortable.

Fabulous location (near Puerta del sol or vodafone del sol). It doesn’t show up properly on google maps so be careful walking around the area find the place especially if you have baggage. The area is super central to walk to part of town (the tapas bar strip is great). The staff is very friendly. We never ate at the restaurant but there seemed to be people there all the time. The room was fabulous, extremely large for european standards, the bathroom had skylights and there was a balcony (not much of a view). The amenities in the room were super nice. Worth the splurge
