“Beautiful hotel, chilly staff.”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

The hotel is lovely. Located near loads of shops and restaurants, walking distance from many major sights including royal palace and Prado museum. Rooms nicely decorated and clean. Many ticks in the plus column. Only problem for us was that the front desk staff was not very welcoming nor friendly during our stay. No one explained the hotel's services, no one took us to our room to explain things like having to put your room key in the slot by the door for any of the lights to work, or how to operate the tub or shower (not as obvious as one would think!). We felt we were bothersome to them whenever we asked a question, even if we asked it in Spanish. Based on other hotels in Barcelona and Seville with a friendly staff full of helpful tips, restaurant recommendations, tourist info. etc., we were disappointed by this.

This was a tremendous hotel.

1) Great Location- in the hear of everything- but very quiet so you could sleep. You could walk to so many places- longest was the Prado- 20 minutes
2) Best Showers I have ever seen- it was water from above and from the side- like you would find in a spa
3) breakfast was amazing- very complete buffet
4) Excellent service at the front desk
5) Very kool/high tech change of lights in the room- green, blue, red.... 14 year old thought this was very hip....

Overall for the money-- great room, beds, cost- excellent...

Room Tip: want hotel facing back of hotel

Wonderful location within short walking distance to Puerta del Sol and nearby museums. Staff accommodated our family's requests for adjoining rooms (2 rooms with common outer door) and luggage storage during our overnight trip to Toledo. The kids most appreciated the complimentary in-room mini bar.

This hotel is excellent. Very modern and cool rooms. Bathrooms are open plan so be prepared if you are sharing with friends! Location is awesome, right in the centre of the action near the main shopping street. People behind the desk were a good laugh which makes a change from usual surly reception one tends to find in much of Spain. Great for me and my mates as we were partying hardcore - they turned a blind eye to the mayhem we were creating but don't let that put you off it would have been great for a couple too. Wasn't expensive either. Highly recommend!

Great location. Upgraded to a wonderful suite. Wonderful and helpful staff. Modern and very efficient rooms. Unfortunately, construction being done on a building directly across the street but the electric blinds muffled most of the noise. Would visit again, in a heartbeat.

There is little point giving anyone five stars, or is there? No 4 star hotel in the middle of a capital city will ever be that good; however, this is a good establishment. The staff are really attentive and kind, the hotel is well organised and run, and strangely enough the restaurant is of a pretty good standard. We had supper there over two consecutive evenings, and it was just what we wanted. If you are a tourist looking for a good base that you are happy to go back to, then this is the place and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

This hotel is very handy for restauarants, shopping and sightseeing. Our room, although a bit small, overlooked the road which is pedestrianised and full of life during the evening paseo.
The hotel's restaurant is very good and the staff very helpful It's a bit difficult to find by car but close to the metro.
We shall return!
