Stayed there 3 nights on April 2012. Room was comfortable, very clean and had a safe. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not included but there are many nearby places to eat so it wasn't a problem. The hotel is central and within 2 metro stops from the Atocha train station.

Very basic, average hotel!
Located behind Gran Via and right in the middle of it. And half way between The Royal Palace and the museums triangle. So in terms of location you cant get any better!Closest metro stop: Callao.
The room´s size was decent and clean: it has a mini bar and flat screen with USB, so it might come handy.
The cleaning staff didnt change the towels one day but the receptionists were happy to take clean ones up to the room. As a matter of fact they made the difference!! The lady in the breakfast room is very chatty and friendly, always happy to help and the male receptionists were awsome too! We checked out at 06h30 and the night receptionist was kind enough to offer us some warm milk and "madalenas".
On the other hand the shampoo and shower gel wasnt chaged during the whole stay and we drank orange juice on the room´s glass and it wasnt washed.
Also breakfast room was too small for the amount of people at the hotel and only with tables for two. Get there early if you enjoy the first meal of the day. Quite poor in terms of variety. Though great for the portuguese as it has an expresso (nespresso) machine
I would recommed it if you go on a low budget break, with little expectations.
Its ok...but not great. (If you cross the street, right on the other side theres another one much, much better for just a little more money: Hotel Regente).

Room Tip: We stayed on the first floor: room 101 has double bed. Room 104 twin beds but with much better bathroom.

Just a short trip to Madrid for the day. Checked another hotel/hostel on trip advisor and from the reviews it said the place was great and would stay there again. Went to check it out and the street it is on was full of hookers (ugly old ones at that). Quickly diverted from there and found a few others close by. These apparently was all full. After six attempts we found this hotel because it was looking bleek. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpfull. We had a decent sized room, nice large bathroom and a great shower. Very close to the shops dont know the name of the street but it had a losd of shops on it and a stones throw from the grand via. Good price and would deffinately stay again.

1/ As i booked the room during august, the hotel was overbooked the first day when i came and i needed to go to anaother in the same street.
2/ There ware works in the lobby and it was a strong smell of painting material during our stay.
3/ The conditions of cancellation ware unacceptable = 100% retained fees starting from august.
You can understand my unhappyness.
