Nice clean, comfortable room( if a little dated) just across the road from the Sabatini Gardens and the Royal Palace. The hotel is just one change on the metro to get to it from the airport making life easy on arrival. It is only a few minutes walk from the old town and there are a couple of metro stations nearby if you wanted to go further a field.
We managed to walk to most places, the Prado and the Reina Sofia are both only 30 minutes or so walk away, the later is worth a visit just to see Guernica by Picasso.

Minus:
- looks a little bit old and run down: you can see some rust spots in the bathroom; missing light-bulbs, etc
- thin walls, and rooms facing the street are quite uncomfortable b/c of the noise outside
- breakfast is medium to good; only one hot dish, some omelet and some fried ham, and not every day :( ; personnel in breakfast room is old, slow and "outdated"

Plus:
- location is very good, just across the street to the Royal Palace, and in between 2 important subway stations: Plaza Espania and Principe Pio (7-8 minutes walking, to either of them). Quite enough places to eat around; Principe Pio subway (and train) station also has a small shopping area, with fast-food, Starbucks, Benetton and most Inditex brans: Zara, Mango, Stradivarius, Massimo Dutti, plus other shops.
- personnel at the reception was nice, friendly and very helpful
- room and bathroom were clean and comfortable (except for the noise); very hot water in the bathroom; temperature in the room was pleasant, and the AC was ok.
- good wifi

Overall, it is a good hotel at a very good price for Madrid and for the location that it offers. Many thanx to the personnel at the reception, which was most kind and helpful!

Tip for subway travelers: the hotel is half-way between Plaza Espania and Principe Pio stations. Mind that the road goes downwards from Plaza Espania to Principe Pio.
So, if you are coming to the hotel (ex: from the airport, with luggage and stuff), you-d better get out at Plaza Espania and go down the road to the hotel :). And also, if you are leaving the hotel to go out in the city or to the airport and want to use the metro, better walk down towards Principe Pio station :)...

Solid hotel. It is right next to the Plaza Espania and across the street from the royal palace. This is a very convenient location as the sites are easily walkable. There is a Starbucks about a 10 minute walk away (which is important to me) as well as a ton or restaurants. The Predo and other museums are about a 30 minute walk away. There are two metro lines close by as well. The staff are friendly and speak English. They were kind enough to schedule a taxi for us and were generally very helpful. The room was simple but clean and comfortable. Free wifi! I only have two issues: 1) European hotels don't believe in shower curtains or doors. They have these little half walls made of glass. They look very modern and sleek but you will (not if) get water on the floor. This is true in most hotels including this one. 2) The walls are thin. I could hear our neighbors pretty easily though it wasn't really a problem for us. Overall, a very good hotel at which we enjoyed staying. The neighborhood is safe and a great location.

A great three stars hotel. Good value considering the expensive hotels in Madrid. Good location with 5 to 10 minutes walk to Principe Pio station, Royal Palace of Madrid, and Temple of Debod. Clean and spacious room with free wifi. Friendly reception staffs.

Friendly staff, great room on 7th floor with little window, excellent bathroom with full bath. Rooms are little run down, dirty carpet (old), bed linen is clean but occasional hairs you can find here and there. Room maid comes every day to tidy the room. No "Do not disturb" sign in the room. Thin walls. Heating quite weak and loud.

Room Tip: I have only tried one room on the 7th, looking to the back, was quiet except for neighbours.

Very good location near the Royal Palace and two metro stations (Plaza Espana and Principe Pio), also near the Teleferico station and Parque del Oeste. Very easy to come from the airport by metro (taxi costs about 35 euros with the airport extra-fee). Near the hotel there are many local restaurants and pubs where you can enjoy your menu del dia and have a spanish breakfast. The staff of the hotel was extremely nice and helpful. WiFi didn´t work in the rooms as promised fot the whole week, but in the lobby it worked well and quite fast. Sleep quality in the rooms was rather poor, the walls are thin and when your neighbour takes a shower you can share it with him :)

Nice location, confortable rooms, eficient and friendly people.

Gran Via, Mercado de San Miguel , Gran Plaza, Puertas del Sol, they all are nearby.

Buses and the underground allow you to go almost everywhere in short time.

To look at the Palacio Real at night from one's window is really fantastic.

Sites as the Rastro and the old Madrid are not far.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the highest floors, over the main street (viewing the palace).
