Hotel located in quite a good place, if you don't mind a bit of walking (~ 15-20 mins to centre). Well located for Atocha station, which is great for travelling to the airport or to medium distance locations like Toledo. On site restaurant was basic, but refreshingly simple and relaxed. Attracted guests and well-mannered locals in equal measure.
Staff were quite pleasant and helpful for the most part. However they, at times, didn't show the best standard; if the phone rang, they would stop serving you instantly and pick up the phone.
Rooms were to a decent standard, except for the smell of sewerage from the drains in the bathroom that manifested from time to time, which really let it down.

Our room felt like a no-frills dormitory, very small and plain but clean and had all the basic necessities, and the bathroom was also reasonably modern, clean and functional. Our room faced the back so it was reasonably quiet. The sheets are a bit rough but otherwise the bed was fine. The location is great, a short walk from Atocha train station and across the street from the Prado and near the other 2 museums and Retiro Park. The checkin person could have been a little friendlier/was a bit stern. Overall, if you need a well-priced, clean place to pitstop near the train station (but don't expect anything super comfy), this is a reasonable choice.

Friendly Staff, close to Museums and the train station.. Would stay there again. The Restuarant in Lobby was inexpensive and fun. Breakfast started at 4 Euros and it was open until 11 pm. Also very clean.

We chose this hotel due to its location.
We got a room without exterior windows, that meant that the room face the emergency escape ladder. It was hot and the air was so stuffy even in November. We were unable to breath and of course a poor sleep. We talked our problems with the man in the front counter, he said that there was nothing he can do.We felt disappointed about these.Besides, the sound insulation was poor. Terrible experience. Avoid this hotel if you want fresh air and a good sleep.

Room Tip: avoid this hotel or ask a room with exterior windows

Moderate price hotel within 5 minute walk of the Prado Museum, Thyssen Museum, Queen Sofia Museum, Botanical Gardens and most importantly Atocha raliway stations for trains all over Spain and to the airport. Older hotel but well maintained. Coffee shop popular with locals downstairs. Helpful front desk staff. Rooms small with only two power points which in this day and age is woefully inadequate. Our room faced Paseo Prado with little balconies to step out and enjoy the street view. Two sets of double glazed doors ensured no street noise intruded when closed. Definitely recommended.

Room Tip: Request room facing Paseo Prado for lovely view
