“Great Hotel”
Reviewed 21 March 2014

Had a fantastic five days at this hotel last week & reading some of the other reviews on it I think your experience much depends on how you booked it & on what floor you stay.We booked via the hotels own website & got a triple room on the fifth floor that had more than enough room for a cot to be added as well. The room was one of those re-furbished & had a very large,& spotlessly clean, bathroom.Breakfast was good, not much variety but enough to get by on for a few days. The staff were very good, from the front desk to the cleaners they were never too busy for a "hola" & a smile.Perhaps though, this hotels biggest selling point is its location.Sandwiched between the Sol & Opera metro stations its slap bang in the middle of everything you would want to see.We will be back !!!

What perfect location! And nice rooms for the money. Would definitely recommend.

Not a 5 star because of how the hotel is from the inside, and that their A.C didn't work. They said it's too early (March), but we are used to sleep in cooler rooms.

Great location in the centre of town, staff very pleasant and welcoming. Breakfast was substantial for continental style breakfast. We stayed in the upgraded room 112 lovely spacious room clean and tidy. We where directly above the main street and had no problems with noise or sleeping. Plenty of places locally to eat varied in choice and very good value for money. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants good value for money and a city centre location.

The hotel is clean and tidy. The rooms are small and basic but comfortable. Breakfast was OK, just cereal, pastries, ham and cheese. The only down side was a slight smell in the corridors, but not the room. The location is fantastic, just 2 minutes walk from the palace, cathedral, Plaza Mejor and Puerto del Sol.
A taxi to and from the airport was 30 euros each way.

NOW i'm staying this hotel room number 511 which is just beside wooden stairway to breakfast place. It's really really really NOISY from 7am in the morning because of the people's walking sounds.that are heading for breakfast place.
I asked front desk to change the room(2 nights left) at 8AM, but front desk person replied within 1 second "all rooms are full" without any cheak on computer. I cannot believe there is no person who will cheak out today at all. At least they could suggest me to make a room after cheak out time but they didn't. I think they just felt bothring from my asking.

So, if somebody stay in this hotel, say "NO #511" at front desk. if you don't, staffs never take care of your room environment.

This hotel is 5 minutes from the Plaza Mayor. It has had a refurbishment in recent years and is very clean; indeed there always seemed people cleaning the public areas. The rooms were a reasonable size. We had a minor problem with an electric light that flashed at night, this was disconnected after we complained and the problem was solved. The only criticism I would have is that the breakfast is fairly basic and after several days (we stayed for a week) I did not look forward to it. It was mostly bread and pastries with slim slices of ham or cheese available. Some fruit and/or yoghurt would have been welcome.

For a 2 star hotel this was excellent, very clean, friendly staff, room was comfortable. It was a bit noisy but it is on a busy street. Continental breakfast was great with fresh pastries every morning. Would highly recommend this as it can not be any more central.

Room Tip: possibly ask for room away from the street.
