“We were very lucky”

Lucky, because we attended an excellent performance by the Ballet Nacional de Espana. The chorographies, the orchestra and the dancers were all very good. It was an authentic Spanish evening.

“Highlight of our trip.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 November 2012

We went specifically to see the National Ballet and it was an absolute treat. The theatre itself is attractive without being in the same class as somewhere like La Scala. Nevertheless it has a distinct atmosphere of it's own and the full house of mainly Madrilenos certainly added to the enjoyment of the evening.
The performance itself was spectacularly good and in itself made our trip to Madrid worthwhile.

Fabulous music and dancing in this Spanish operetta! Beautiful theater in a great location near to good restaurants. Very reasonable ticket prices.

“Wow!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2012

Although I couldn't understand a word of this, I loved to have the music wash over me for three hours. Start with forty live instrumentalists, add costumes, lights, staging and fifty or sixty singers on stage, and you have a show that you will never forget.

I loved that it was all acoustic––no body microphones. The lead singers were first rate. We saw "La Chulapona," which involves a love quadrangle. Even our 9-year old daughter lasted the whole show. What a treat.
