“Favorite district of Madrid”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 January 2014 via mobile

I just love that district of Madrid! The calle de fuencarral has some nice, classy, popular and unpopular shops, it's a great mix of everything. If you leave this big shopping streat you are likely to find nice and independent Cafés and Bars, all of them are a bit alternative. If you like rock and Alternative Music, you should also check Out Malasaña at night, it has some hidden treasures!

“Radically changed in the past few years”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 January 2014

I used to live in the district Malasaña in 98 - 2000. Then it was more Bohemian and full of quirky shops. Now it is much more trendy, but still quite arty, although more expensive, it is still an interesting area to walk around and window shop.
It is bordered by Calle Pez, Calle Fuencaral, Calle Carranza, Calle San Bernardo

“A Pleasant Place to Visit”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 December 2013

One of the main streets of the Barrio of Malasana is the Calle Princesa, and this has the very large department store of El Corte Ingles, as well as many other shops. It also has the Plaza de Dos de Mayo, a historic place where French troops killed many Spanish and where the War of Independence started. The barrio is known as the place of night life.

“Best nightlife if you are into rock music”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2013

It has the best nightlife in Madrid, but it's becoming more gentrified lately, so visit it before it's too late.
