This hotel should be a good choice for the light packers, because to get there from the airport one needs to change three subway lines. But once you are there, it's very easy to get to all main attractions in the city since the hotel almost seats on the entrance to the Red and Green lines of the subway (called here Metro). The station is named Ventas and to Puerta del Sol is about 15 min. from here, to Prado - 10 (station Banco de Espania), to the King Palace - 17 min. (station Opera). It's good idea to buy a tourist ticket for 1, 2 or 3 days and have unlimited number of rides. The one-day ticket cost 8.40 Euros.
Hotel is a typical Ibis with all basic necessities one can expect in the two-star hotel. Our room was very clean and well maintained all three days we stayed there and all staff was very friendly and eager to help. We liked very much their new kind of mattresses, pillows and duvets they recently introduced in Ibis Hotels and although it's the matter of personal preferences we considered this innovation as a big improvement compared to what we were offered in Ibis hotels in Paris and Barcelona in 2011 during our previous trip. To improve the safety of the guests, only a person with the valid hotel card (the same you open the room) can use the elevator.More
